Halo 3 Flamethrower pretty much CONFIRMED!!!

All right guys, I found 2 (two) different sources of leaked info that point to a flamethrower.

achievement_extra_crispy - Doesn't extra crispy seem to be an achievement gained when you BURN something?

Award: Kill an opponent with a flame-based weapon. -  A medal found in the beta. Pretty much a dead giveaway.

The flamethrower was dumb in Halo 1. The only way to get a kill with it was to hide and wait for someone to walk by, then toast them. Still cool to have I guess, but I just don't see how it can stand a chance aganist some of the new weapons.limpbizkit818

That would be an awesome antiFlood weapon if they could set each other on fire.

I've never even heard of some of those metals...

Whatever that means...

but remember that Gearbox did Halo PC...so the Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Cannon were things they added independent of Bungie design. 

Though it should be noted that the Fuel Rod Gun did make it into Halo 2's single-player campaign, and Bungie did say that they wanted to put a flamethrower in Halo but they were held back by the technology of the original Xbox...

In other words, we'll find out one way or another by the end of September
