Halo 3 Heroic map pack free today

Halo 3's Heroic map pack, which launched in December, will be available to download for free from Xbox Live today according to Bungie.

The developer's dated it for "March 25th at 2 a.m." Pacific time in the US, which is like now here in the UK, although a quick check of Live still lists the map pack as 800 Microsoft Points. Presumably that will change imminently.

UPDATE!: The MAPS are now FREE!

The maps are STILL 800 MICROSOFT POINTS. They are not free. I just checked Marketplace.

Bungie has once again lied to the communtiy,and we like good patrons have once again been fooled. :(

This isnt a bogus thread... I read the quote myself off of bungie.net a while ago (which is why i am on these forums in the first place). Bungie specifically said March 25th at 2am in their weekly update post on their website.

They still aren't free... what the heck is going on?

microsoft is behind the idea of charging us for the maps. the develpors tried to give us gears and halo maps for free and Microsoft said hellz no.

For the people like me who just downloaded them, what do you guys think of the new maps? i personally like Rats Nest the best, and id say Foundry is my least fav, its a little claustrophobic for me ;)steveslugga

What ticks me off is that I paid 800 points for these, and honest to god I don't even think that I have gotten to play any of them online ONCE yet. If 1 person in the bunch didn't have it, all the maps were thrown out of the cycle.

Now that they are free I'll probably get a chance cause everybody will download it now. I swear, next map pack for any game I am NOT buying. (trys to build will power to resist COD4 maps)

There was a special play list that had just the DLC maps playable.
