Well reach didn't live up to my expectations of being as fun as halo 3, or halo 2 (it's the armor abilities that ruined it for me, they needs a classic playlist that supports all game modes) So I'm looking to get Halo 3 again (ODST, with all the DLC). I want to know, how many people still play Halo 3 online? I really don't want to buy it if there's only 2000 people playing online :P

A good amount of players still play H3 actively, just depends what Playlist you're trying to play.

There's still quite a large amount of people that still play it daily (and nightly if you prefer night play) but the biggest problem with H3 online is that, since Bungie no longer monitors the Halo 3 servers, there are more hackers than you thought existed. So if you do get it, prepare yourself for the possible urge to jump through the screen and to the cheater's livingroom and slit his throat. But really, it can get pretty bad.

Ah, I'm no strangers to hackers in halo, the good ol' days of halo 2 where hackers roamed free because of xbox lives weak authority. But hey there's always the option to report a player to Microsoft :P But thanks for the answer, I think I'll still buy it despite hackers.

Mmm, I remember that. That was pretty bad. No problem! It's still worth playing I think, it wasn't a bad game.
