I do not think that's true. It's going to be done in a lot of flashbacks so it's possible that as the main character you really only play on one level but you'll be flashing around through time periods.hey i heard that halo 3 odst is gonna be an open world? how many of you think thats true?

Nooo lol, I don't think its gonna be that short.hahah no, its gonna be a very short campaign, i think around 3 hours long

nope, bungie said on there forum when talking price that they think it should only be 30 bucks. but at e3 microsoft said since your getting a whole new campaign( extreamely short one), horde mode. and 3 new maps, then it should be a full priced game.
as for me im gonna skip on picking this up cause theres no way im gonna spend full price on an expansion pack just cause it has a halo name
lol well i dont have all day to argue this with you ( nor do i want to). but just google how long it will be. your get a few answers so just pick the average
I guess no one bothered to even look up info on the game before answering. The game will be open and non-linear. You are placed into a map (larger than any single map created in the Halo games) with various pathways to reach destinations. You are free to choose where you want to go and how you want to proceed in the game.
[QUOTE="cthecoffee"]lol 3 hours i guess you already beat the game. Just look at the size of the map and all of the objectives you have to do plus the unknown. and yeah its open world. Devs said 3 - 6 hours.hahah no, its gonna be a very short campaign, i think around 3 hours long

Devs said 3 - 6 hours. yes, way before E3.great info and videos everyone. I'm more hyped now for this game. Since you have limited health its going to add more strategy and make co-op more fun with teamwork. I like how the flashback moments with action adds to the exploration aspect. Hope you can also do co-op 4 player splitscreen offline. Its worth the full price to me. I dont care what the Halo haters say.
Negative, dude. It's $60 and it's going to offer at the very least 6 hours of gameplay.hahah no, its gonna be a very short campaign, i think around 3 hours long

stfu and do your homework the campagin is confirmed to be as long as the other halo, im so tired of you halo haters. You guys are so cool i mean you can hate the game the made the 360 what it is and then complain about something that you haven't even research and even if it was short the 60 dollar price tag is kinda warrented don't you think with 40 dollars of maps don't you think please get a clue
It is going to be MORE open world then other halo games is what they said. Meaning much mor exploration.
If the videos ive seen, ODST looked ALOT more dark and scary then the older halo games, and yes it looked like it has alot more exploration/open world chances then the other halo games had.
haha halo will never be classified as scary, i think kozzy meant it was a darker looking game, duller colour pallete, more focused on the grim side of this wargood because i like long scary games

It defiantly seemed more darka nd violent then previous halo games from teh videos i saw, but we shall see once the game comes out.
I always wondered what a more mature/dark halo game with more exploration would be like.
So you can play Halo 3's multiplayer on the second disc with ODST?
If so im selling Halo 3. I need to play firefight. it looks sweet.
I think the price tag is ok if you havn't bought any of the current map packs. As for ODST being open world, i think it is unlikely and the only open world shooter i ahve ever heard of.
during E3 Joe Staten from Bungie showed and explained a bit more of odst. Theres about 4 videos showing the game size, etc.gow117To add to this, Gamespot has some videos of Bungie staff playing the game and they say that you'll be free to roam the city, making it realtively open world. It seemed pretty big as well and seemed like it's got a lot of gameplay, even though most of the story will probably be through flashbacks
