Halo 3 or 2.5?

can't believe this games looks like a complete flop, obviously people will buy it and so might i, but there is no graphical improvement apart from HDR lighting! the maps are the same old same old, and instead of adding new weapons theyve just gone stupid and geeky with the weapon dynamics.

its like theyve asked geeks what weapons they dream about in games and shoved them right in there. All this shield grenade stuff and this jet pack jumping lordy shank.....the game might aswell be an RPG, no wonder they are making an RPG version.

i am very dissapointed, the single player game best be good and lame like the last one or its just gunna drive me nuts. I just wish microsoft would tell developers that we dont want any more generic sci-fi shooters on our system, and i know the 360 has the geekiest rep on the market but i do believe it could all change in a few years.

anyone else mad or is it just me?

Once you give Halo 3 a chance and play it with an open mind you easily see that it is Halo 3 and not 2.5.  There is a big graphical improvement over number 2, but it still is not the best looking game on the 360.  With changes to old weapons and vechicles plus the addition on new weapons and vehicles the multiplayer has a much different feel. 

The single player will finish the storyline and the multiplayer has many things to differentiate it from Halo 2.  I have spent many hours with both Halo 2 and the Halo 3 beta and I can tell you already that this is not a 2.5. 

i just believe that bungie thinks its inside some kind of 'comfort bubble' were they can do what they want and not really change much and the game will sell. They give themselves too much respect in my eyes.

I know killzone 2 is very hush hush, but i think when that game launches it wont dissapoint and it will be a JUMP from Killzone 1.

Halo still looks like disneyland with guns! why oh why......

If it aint broke, don't fix it.  Halo is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, and I personally am happy that they aren't doing anything radical and are staying true to the other two games.  And while the graphics may not be that much better, I don't really care as long as they nail the gameplay.bessy67

If you really played the beta thoroughly I think you would find that it is very different from Halo 2.  I would definitely wait for the final game before bashing the graphics, I mean heck, they didn't even add in the water effects yet.  I think you can definitely tell the difference between Halo 2 and Halo 3 Beta.

nah, i just hate it when ppl slag others off when they are the ones in the wrong, especially when it doesnt make sense. double especially when they are saying it simply to upset someone. (thats why ii hat chavs :evil:)

ok i know its a beta, but its still using the same source code than the final version, they may tweak lil things, but its still the same game.
the gaming dynamics are exactly the same. the same jump and shoot and headshots dont count for nowt.
i was just expecting more. instead theyve turned the whole online experience into a quake game.
plus master chief still looks like 'kryton' from red dwarf.


im sorry its just the fact that ive forked put for a 360, and they really isnt many games that appeal to me, i sold GOW and soon as i completed it. Plus with all this going on im seeing some amazing beta footage from warhawk and the new firmware updates turning a PS3 in to a true media hub. Maybe im just a lil bitter at the moment.

What are you talking about. There are no jetpacks in Halo 3. The graphics actually are much improved (Have you played it?) As are the weapons, which are now much more balanced than Halo 2. And, for the record, they are not making an RPG game, they are making a real time strategy (RTS) game called Halo Wars. I get the impression you don't know anything about Halo 3.

 Headshots count as much in Halo 3 as they ever did. Shoot someone in the head with the sniper rifle and it's a one-shot kill. And if you think you're bored with Xbox 360, wait till you buy that PS3 you're talking about and realize there are no good games out for it.

Like Gamespot said in that marathon they did.  It should be called Halo "more" edition.  Its more Halo....  Whether thats good enough is for each individual to decide.  Its their money.  I'll just be renting it though, finish the single player and return it.crck

I've played through both Halo and Halo 2, and I can honestly say Halo 3 is the most polished (in terms of multiplayer) than either of the first two games. In terms of creativity, does Halo 3 offer anything truly unique? Depends. I think it offers the best mix of FPS elements and vehicles EVER in a game. However, it is largely the same type of (multiplayer) gameplay as Halo 2, but I've noticed that it is much more customizeable. Also, there are many more weapons, and the addition of items (like the zero-gravity lift, trip mine, etc.) add a whole new dimension to gameplay.

I can't speak for the single-player in Halo 3, but the multiplayer is absolutely fantastic. If the single-player contains the same amount of thought and polish and an extra dose of creativity, I'll be very happy come September.

We have yet to barely even see Halo 3, the beta is just a small dose of what is to come.  Here some of the latest thigns just shown.

the great thing about Killzone fanboys is that apart from the amazing CGI video (a "target" showing of what the graphics will look like, which was debunked by its horrendous graphical flop at GDC 07 in Sony's Edge promotion), there is no reason to think that game will be looked, unless you really enjoyed the first Killzone (which anyone is entitled to... its THEIR own opinion).

the dev team has no track record... aside from the first KZ, which was a critical FLOP.  the only solid game that this dev team has made was a PSP game... that was not an FPS in the first place. :lol:

Bungie on the other hand is 2 for 2 in the Halo series... critic-wise.  not to mention that they also made the great Marathon series way back.  if people think those Halo fanboys are crazy... i wouldn't dare to think what goes in the minds of Killzone fanboys.  its probably mostly denial with a pinch of insecurity.

I don't know what people expect. If they drastically change the game, it wouldn't be halo. They added new features, upped the graphics without giving it an entirely different style, it's HALO 3, not some spin off of it. But if some kid wants to sell his 360 he didn't even pay for, good, less idiots on Xbox live for me to mute.BlueTimber

well i know the 360 aint the most powerful thing on the market, but i was hoping that bungie could take advantage of the 360's hardware.
i was kinda hoping for a more battlefield experience, with dropships that was all. The maps look tiny.

im not bashing halo at all, im just stating my opinion so dont bash killzone what is the point, soon as you bash killzone your insecurity is revealed.

its not like im saying that guerilla has the biggest gaming budget in gaming history, or that k2 has been in dev for twice along as halo3. Its easy to take sides, all i wanna hear is that maybe halo3 plays better than it looks from the outside viewers.
