Sadly Halo Reach is a little out of my budget and I really want to see the ending to Halo 3 anyway, but I also really like what Bad Company 2 has to offer. BC2 seems like a really solid game, however the Battlefield franchise has a larger PC following (I played BF2 on the PC for over a year) so I know how big Battlefield is on the PC, however if BC2 has a decent following on the 360, i'll buy it.

I'm sure i'll get reach as well eventually.

So Halo 3 or BC2? I know Halo 3 obviously has a larger online community, but if BC2 has at least a couple hundred people everyday I'll buy it.

I'm on newegg.com right now looking at both and trying to figure out which one to order.

I recently got XBL and need games for it, as I only have GOW 1 & 2 right now.

Bad Company 2 is still one of the more played games on live. There are thousands online playing it a day, so you don't need to worry about not finding matches.

I'm not sure I can recommend one over the other. They're both solid game, you can't go wrong with either. I guess maybe Halo 3, I just looked it up on Gamestop and it's generally cheaper. A used copy is about seventeen dollars and a new copy is about thirty. Bad Company used is thirty three dollars, new is fourty dollars and the ultimate edition with all dlc content is sixty.

If you do decide Halo 3 though, you may want to purchase ODST instead since it includes all the Halo 3 dlc on disc. Only four of Halo 3's playlist don't require dlc, so it'd be a good idea unless you don't mind being confined to the four playlists. ODST's still cheaper than Bad Company 2. ODST used is about twenty five dollars and thirty dollars new. If you decide not to get ODST though the Legendary map pack is two bucks, the Mythic map pack is five bucks and the Mythic Part 2 is ten. Thats the real deal breaker. If you plan to play online you may want to go with ODST unless you're fine with just four playlist. If you still want that Halo 3 campaign and you still want to play all playlists any money you would have saved by going with normal Halo 3 would have been pointless since you'll need to purchase nearly twenty dollars worth of dlc.

Thanks for the detailed answer.

I'll go with BC2 for now and probably pick up ODST in a few weeks.

Not that the DLC matters a lot. My friend bought used so I don't get to play any of the DLC maps, no big deal, I think the "DLC maps" which are just maps from other game types, suck for Rush.

They are both very much played on XBL. I recommend getting Halo 3 since you can probably get it used right now for around $20 while if you buy BFBC2 used, you must pay for the VIP thing later (1200MSP/$15)

If you are already getting reach later I say Battlefield 2. You will have 2 games in different settings. with Halo 3 you still have to buy extra maps to play all the gametypes online. Theres a Vietnam battlefield DLC coming to bad company 2 as well.

BC2 got here yesterday. I played the multiplayer all night. It was well worth the purchase. The campaigns pretty sick to. Love the cut scenes and the story. Only issues I have are with the shotguns range.

And yes I got the VIP thing and entered the code.

I play more BFBC2 online than Reach. It's awesome to say the least.

I'd say Halo 3. Bad Company 2 isn't very good.

Haven't Played Bad Company 2, but I heard that game was great.

From my experience, I'd get Bad Company 2.
