Halo 3 or GTA 4

Your in the shop, only enough money to buy one, and it will take you three months to save up again. They both came out on the same day(for the sake of the scenario) and you have both in your hand. Which do you buy?

And no trade ins are allowed, they become outlawed this summer(once more for the sake of the scenario)

Edit (Nearly a year on): Just found this in my posting history. Wow. Looking back, Anyone changed their minds? Would anyone have said COD 4 had it been an option?

NB: This may look like a bump, and I guess in a way it is, but it's better than a new topic.

I would go with GTA because after playing Halo and Halo 2 both were disappointing especially considering the hype for both.fordies

I don't think Halo and Halo2 were disappointing, but they didn't live up to the hype either.  I think I'd still go with Halo 3.  GTA is getting repetitive and unrealistic.  Poor AI in GTA, great game but not as good as Halo!

this has got to be the stupidest scenario i have ever seen, first off this wold never happen, but if it did happen then i would get halo 3, but only if i knew it wouldn't have cheaters for a while, and gta is just a dumb game where u walk everywhere shooting random people and doing the same based missions every-time, also there will be no planes

GTA, because......duh, it's GTA. :D

 But I repeat a similar answer to the similar thread in a different forum, it's like choosing between lots of sex and lots of money. Either game will bath you in glowing, HD awesomeness. :D:D

GTA IV definetley. Much, much longer lifespan for singleplayer and I prefer non-linear games.

The Halo franchise has got to be one of the most over-rated in modern gaming histroy. Don't get me wrong, Halo was a damn good game and Halo 2 improved on it a little but if you ever played FPS's on a PC before Halo came out then Halo seemed a lot less revolutionary then it was supposed to be.

haha is this a serious question?  Who would pick GTA4?  Maybe someone who has never actually played Halo?

Well after reading some of the other responses in here I must say, I am totally baffled.  GTA is one of the most overrated series of our time.  If you have played GTA 3 you have played them all.  Once you get tired of running around and killing people what else is there to do?  Also who cares if the single player life span is greater, if you choose the 360 you should understand that Xbox Live is what makes the 360 great.  Why would you choose playing by yourself over playing with other people?  Well to each his own I guess...

 uh, me.  Why would I waste valuable time that I could be playing Halo 3 with my friends to play GTA4?

Oh, I know, and there are lots of other games I like to play but were talking about Halo 3!  I personally do not like GTA games, when I first played it was cool because it was innovative but once that wore off, I had no desire to play any of the GTA titles after that.  Now Crackdown, that is an innovative and amazingly fun game.  But, seriously, when you get a new game that you really, really like don't you ever play it exclusively for a while?  I am relatively sure I will be playing Halo 3 pretty much exclusively for a while.

dont you run around and kill things in halo too? anyways id probably get GTA4 been a fan since it came out on ps2, i already preordered halo 3 tho but not gta tho lol, im gonna do that soon.

Okay, I can understand your point about Halo 2 not living up to the hype as we all will probably agree (at least for SP, MP is still the best system, maybe not game, out). But Xbox was supposed to fall flat when it launched and NO ONE was talking about Halo, excpet the true Bungie and gaming fans. Halo so far surpassed expectations that you just sound dumb. If ti weren't for Halo, we would all be on the PS3 forums because there would be no 360.

I didnt say there was hype for Halo before it was released and i dont know if there was or not because i didnt follow the game or even the xbox for that matter but when i did play it which was not long before the release of Halo 2 that being the reason i did play it there was a lot of stuff being said by my friends and on forums like it being one of the greatest games ever and so on and to me that is hype maybe i should of made that clear in my original post i dont know.
