Halo 3 questions

i never played Halo 1 & 2 and i am so in trouble relating with the story of Halo 3... i want to know more info. for me to enjoy the story of Halo 3:

1. why do they call the cief as "demon"

2. what do they mean when they say "Have he activated the rings?" What are the rings?

3. the electronic silver lady that keeps on appearing to the chief, is she his wife? his wife is electronic? so the chief is a robot?

There is a vidoe in the Xbox Live Market Place in the Halo 3 section that sums up Halo 1 and 2

Anyway:

1. The Covenant call him the demon because he killed a lot of their soildiers single-handedly and blew up Instillation 04 (the first Halo)

2.There are seven Halo rings in all and they can be activated all at once from the Ark if one is about to start and is stopped from firing. The rings were made to kill the Flood and anything it could infect which is pretty much any sentient (smart thinking creature i.e human/covenant)

3. No she is the A.I. the Master Chief has been entrusted to protect and her name is Cortana. They are not married lol. Also the chief is not a robot he is human with cybernetic enhancements and a power suit.

1. The Covenant (or aliens) believe the rings have some sort of religious significance, and activating them would bring them to "salvation"(aka: The Great Journey). What really happens when you activate the rings, however, is that it destroys all sentient life within its' blast radius (i think it was 25,000 light years per ring or something) and since Master Chief is hindering them from their "Great Journey" they consider him a "demon."

2. 7 rings in total(1 was destroyed in the 1st halo game). They were built by an ancient race known as the "forerunners" as weapons of last resort (sort of like a nuke) against the parisitic creatures known as the"Flood."(those zombie-like beings)

3. Not his wife, an A.I. She holds a lot of human knowledge and she was captured by the Flood leader in Halo2. Chief is a cyborg. A genetically altered human that is faster and stronger than regular soldiers. A super soldier... think Captain America in Iron Man's armor. (except he can't fly or shoot energy blasts. lol)

Thank you so much for the info. ^__^uh.. halo 3 had a sweet end... so sweet for the 2, takin' all the risk for her...

now i get it why they call the chiefa demon... poor misguided beings...
