Halo 3 Rank Question

Can you lose skill points or experience points and go down in rank if you lose or place low in too many matches? I'm thinking of letting a friend play on my account, but I know he'll lose and I don't want to go down in rank...

A lieutenant requires you to have 10 skill points and a certain amount of experience points right? If he plays (or if I play, for that matter) and my skill goes down below ten, will I go back to sergeant?

No. Again, only the number goes down, and not always, same way it doesnt go up too ;) Man, play for fun, ranking system in halo3 is kinda easy compared to halo2 after all.

Exp doesn't go down( unless he quits) and skill doesn't go down either but if he plays in ranked and loses a lot, it will be harder for you to skill up.

Best thing tell him to play anything but ranked.
