This game is still a FPS and doesn't play like Rainbow Six, GRAW or anything like that.

Then Jarrard and Smith shifted into rumor-debunking mode, declaring that Halo 3: Recon is not third-person nor is it squad-based. It will not be a Splinter Cell-like stealth game, but players will have to take a different approach to combat as their character will be not be a Spartan super-soldier like the Master Chief. This new ****of gameplay, however, will not apply to Recon's multiplayer maps, which will support "traditional, ****c" Halo 3 modes.
ah, ok. still sounds interesting though; "players will have to take a different approach to combat as their character will be not be a Spartan super-soldier like the Master Chief"
i look forward to it.
A thing that for me say it's a stand-alone title is the fact how it is listed on the Markeplace.
Usually all game have their own title where all their content is in.
Halo: Recon has it's own title. So following that logic it is it's own game.
Also "a slightly improved engine" and a new story + setting are probably too massive for DLC.
May be too big for a dlc but certainly doesn't seem worth its own game, basically a short campaign mode and halo 3 multiplayer with halo 3 maps honestly whats the point just add it on like dlc or at least give an option to download it for a cheaper price if you already have H3.
My question is since it uses H3 multiplayer does that mean the 2 games can cross over play with eachother, otherwise that could vastly destroy the halo multiplayer community.
Again I am all for H3, love the online multiplayer, but with this being a stand alone I have lost almost all interest in it.
