People know, places in theUK and Australia had retail stores break street date. Mostly, fully knowing that they shouldn't but they didn't care (Argos). But the thing to note is that i have not heard of 1 single retailer in the US doing that.
Quite frankly i hope there is major repercussions for breaking the street release date its about time publishers stopped moaning about it and started punishing those that actually do it!
True, it really is no surprise but that still doesnt mean something shouldnt be done about it. Either the companies that ship it to retail suppliers should be held responsible on the basis that they were stupid enough to send it to the outlets this early or the retailers that were first off the block should be held responsible and punished severely such as not receiving delivery of major titles until day of release.
