so i just got halo 3 today and i tried to play it on split screen with my brother, but when we played it the screen was smaller than the size of my tv. i dont know why but there are black bars on the left and right side of the screen...i have a 51 inch plasma screen hdtv that runs at 1080i....please help me!

Split-screen is in 4:3 unfortunatly. Its rendered in 480p also.

wow, so theres no way to make it fill the whole screen? if not, then that is really really stupid and i cant believe they would make it like that. especially since every other game i play co-op on 360 fills the whole screen.

You could try adjusting your TV by zooming or something I guess.

Also you can't play three player coop and 1 via live which suck as well

just change your 360 to normal rather than widescreen (in dashboard) that'll fill the screen, you may have to try different resolutions though.

Its made to avoid that the two players get crazy widescreens.

Bungie thought it would be funny if they did it like that. They also thought it would be funny if they didn't balance their ranked games! Good job Bungie, better start working on some patches.
