Same i wasn't disappointed with it whatsoever because i knew what to expect. Although i don't consider it the best xbox 360 game i consider Lost odyssey to be but that's just my opinion.

Same here. After seeing how similiar Halo 2 was to Combat Evolved, I didn't expect the third entry to take the series in any wild new directions. So, expecting more Halo, I got more with Halo 3, and was a happy gamer.

hooray for low expectation and no hype!
It really isn't, people will find a way to keep this thread active a year from now probably. But I really enjoyed the game, and I still do. The story was great, and the MP is still amazing as well.oh no, this thread isnt going to end well.

Why overhype a game to unrealistic quality? Why can't people just accept a game for what it is? I knew what Halo 3 was going to offer if it bothered me that much i could have stuck with Halo 2 but i've enjoyed the games so i bought it. Not to mention i got it for like $35 used so that's like an expansion pack price. I'm very happy with my purchase and i would have paid $60 for it.

thats why i think gears is going to run into some troubles, people expect too many new things from a sequel, when the idea of a sequel is too stick to the same formula and story
That's why i warn people to never overhype games constantly. They'll overhype it and hate it. Big name games today have to be ten times better than their sequel or be totally different but in the end they'll still be compared to games that are remotely similar and the littlest flaws will be attacked for no reason.
I've overall stopped caring what others opinions are about games and never expect too much from a game. So either way if it flops or not i wont be disappointed. If it turns out great hey i'm glad and i'll buy it.

Understand the MSG before you have to correct People...
If Halo 3 was the best game on the xbox 360 I'd smash my xbox 360 into a million little pieces and then burn the remains.
I hated Halo 3, mainly because most (If not all) of the 'new' things in the game were already designed and created during Halo 2. It seemed to me that because it was the end of the series Bungie said to themselves 'Arr screw it' and threw everything they'd thought of into it.
I swear I only got to use the flamethrower twice, two mini SMG's maybe once and I cant even remember finding a Needler or some of the other weapons. The AI was pretty crap too when you were in a vehicle, you had the choice of either letting the dumb AI shoot (and miss half the time) or letting the dumb AI drive you into a rock (where at this point you die)
Another thing! Whats the deal with that damn assault rifle, I swear to god thats the only weapon I got to use 90% of the time because it was the only damn thing available. It was like they were trying to constantly remind us that they brought it back from Halo 1, it would have been much more fun if they'd given much more variety in the weapon drops.
But no matter what you say fanboys will ultimately deny everything and say that Halo 3 is the greatest game ever because of the multiplayer.

Yeah, to tell the truth it's kinda enjoyable if you're playing it on legendary. It's not the worst game out there by any means, I just think that it could have been done alot better.
One more thing though! What was the deal with that human aircraft thing you flew in one of the levels? Seriously, you got into it, shot at one scarab, flew around to the other side of the cliff next to you and got out. Then you never got to see the thing ever again.
Horrible game.
So glad I got rid of it, yet so sad I wasted money on it.
Matt-4542
Agreed. It took them years to basically reinvent Halo2
Halo 3 felt like another Madden. Everything they did seemed like it could have been done in a short year and shipped out for more money. I played it, didn't want to feel like I wasted the money so I said I liked it. The multiplayer was great when playing with friends, but then CoD4 came out and I realized what a real first person shooter should be.
Its an average game no where near best of 360.
While this halo looks sorta good it doesn't look next gen. On the other hand, this is a great game overall. You have 4 player campaign which is awesome. You have basically a million people to play against so every game online feels new, unlike most shooters where you come across the same team over and over. I can play this game with a group of pro's and have a fun game, and then play with my not so great friends and still have a blast.
While it can use some improvements, one thing you have to admit. You can't quit halo, I tried and you'll always comeback because their is no other game where you can pickup and play like Halo, and play to have fun and not worry about being number 1.
