I dont see how you can really compare these two games. Halo:CE was revolutionary for its time just like gears of war is for this generation. Ones an ultra realastic team based strategy 3rd person shooter, the others a sci-fi fantasy physics fast run and gun FPS. But if you are asking me if i trapped on desert island with a wifi connection and i could only choose one of the two games to take with me........ I would have to take gears hands down.urine72

Halo 3. Better campaign & better multiplayer imo.

I got my xbox 360 1 month before halo 3 came out. so I bought gears of war, bio shock and forza motorsport 2 to play while waiting.

I finished bio shock in no time. gears of war on casual then on hard core (except for last boss on hardcore, will get back to him).

then when I got halo have been playing it since so for like 1 month. great game. I think it is better than gears of war. as there are more awards to find.

Gears of War is not original. Run around and shoot aliens/monsters? Been there and done that hundreds of times. ButI will give you this, there is hardly anything original anymore.

WOW, you just blew my mind your right! Gears isnt because its a tps that you shoot aliens/monsters and utilize cover while at the same time uses weapons that are not future based or past. but a mix of both (EX. A bolt action sniper and a cross bow that shoots exploding arrows). and Halo is a fps thta you shoot aliens/montsers and there is not a way to take cover And the weapons are a mix of present and futer (dispite the fact it takes place 600 years from now). now here is my bet for you. I bet that i can find more fps that fit the supplied description than you can find tps's that fit the descrition. Let me start my list right now......

Just off the top of my head Resistance fall of man, Halo 1-2-3,Half-life 2, doom 1-2-3, metoird prime, every pc game from the early 90's......

i could go all day, you better get started!
