I think reviewers get an early copy to review. On Bungie.net in one of the weekly updates it mentions that they held an event for the reviewers somewhere to play and review the game.
actually i kinda agree with the kilzone guy. with the way gamespot has been rating games lately i wouldnt be surprised if it got an 8.5, but if it did gamespot would have to close down for like a month

Not really. Most reviewers are infact too easy to impress. I'm mad Gamespot fell for crap such as Gears of War and Oblivion. Halo 3 obviously don't deserve a perfect score based on repetition and lack of innovation alone.

Halo 3 will get some perfect scores, but who cares what score gamespot gives it? And as far as Killzone 2 is concerned, that game looks ****ing amazing, too bad it's a SCEA game and will only ever be on the PS3 - I'd love to play it, but I'm not convinced by the awful PS3 library to buy one, let alone the retarded price (spare me the Blu-Ray player ****). PS3 fans can enjoy their Killzone, I'll be playing Halo 3 in about 10 days.... Sony will be lucky to have Killzone 2 out by the end of 2008 :P
