Boring story, boring characters, short campaign, meh graphics, no split-screen.

This isn't a Halo game, it's a generic space-shooter. Have they learned nothing from Halo 4.

This game is a big let down for long time Halo fans. The pure fact that there is no local co op and no online guest is absolutely absurd for a Halo game. You cannot have get together's with your buddies IRL anymore and have Halo nights at a friends place....hell you can't even have 1 friend over and play together now. Also this game is lacking in game modes, basically there isn't many options to choose from right now, and on top of that there is no forge. Seems to be the normal in this gen to have minimal content at launch and add more later with DLC and microtransaction.

You also barely play as Masterchief at all.

I think choosing 343 to make this was a mistake, not to mention it has the lowest metacritic rating out of all the games in the main series.

Forge is coming as a free DLC, they decided to get rid of couch co op, guess they are moving with the times

In terms of campaign (which is all I care about), I probably agree... Although I still enjoyed it, the story felt rushed and wasn't told very well. But the biggest problem for me is that the campaign was completely designed for co-op, and solo seemed to be a secondary thought.

I hope H6 puts the focus back on a SOLO campaign.

You make it sound like the graphics were a choice. The Xbox One is a weak console, it can't have nice graphics that move well.

Split screen? It's 2015, it's dead. Also because the Xbox One is weak there can't be split screen. You already complained about the graphics, you wanted them worse?

I didn't mind not having split-screen. I am also probably one of the few that actually really liked the direction the story took. It did feel slightly rushed at times, if they could have fleshed out of couple of the missions you do without any shooting then it would have been way better they had a lot of potential to do some good story telling in those missions.

The multiplayer however is my favorite of the entire series, so I am not disappointed with this game at all.

Play 4 player co-op on legendary. That's what the campaign was really designed for.

As far as the story goes, I don't really see it as any weaker than the stories in any of the games. Halo 2 probably has the best depth, but halos story has never been that great in the games. The novels etc flesh it out a lot, but the game is basically the same sci fi trope used in almost all sci fi. Hero saves humanity from alien invaders.

I was really expecting them to bring the Flood back though. I actually guessed a good chunk of the plot on my blog, but the part I was expecting to see was Cortana was raising the Guardians because she was being manipulated by the Didact, and they were doing this because of a new huge Flood invasion.

Still has a chance since you can tell this game ended in progress so we will have to wait for halo 6 to find out.

NO. I don´t know how many Halo games have you played but H5 is far from being the worst.

Are you talking about the campaign or overall? Because as a long time Halo campaign fan and a lore junkie, the campaign is by far the weakest, especially story wise.

You don't agree?

Haven't played it but from what I've seen coop is no longer just an extra feature as far as the campaign goes. The campaign is now designed for coop altogether and that puts me off.

Halo campaigns never seemed weak to me. Short but not weak. But then again I never played them cooperatively. Not the first time through anyway. Doing so removes all the challenge and ruins them. Under those circumstances I could see someone saying they're weak. But it's their own fault for ruining it, not the game's.

WHo the eff cares about the campaign, I haven't even played that yet. I jumped straight into the multiplayer. Is it really that big of a deal? jesus i get video games to sit back and shoot people or zombies after work. Not to weep over the story. Go watch a movie if you care so much about story lines

Its so hard to believe people shell out 60 for a single player only games. I have never gotten a game without multiplayer and if I have, ive only spent 10 max on it.

Watch the goddam cut scenes on youtube if youre getting a game for its story only

Yeah the focus on co-op in the design of the campaign was a major negative for me... I sincerely hope that H6 isn't the same.

The reason Halo 5 sucks is because it was not made by the original artist Bungie

Not sure I agree personally because I seem to be in the minority that actually really enjoyed H4's campaign... definitely a lot more then 5's.

Yeah i dont give a crap about story as long as the gameplay is solid and keeps me occupied for months to come. I used to own a ps3 last gen and never bought Uncharted. Just watched the cut scenes on Youtube for the story and called it a day.

Well congratulations, it's people like you that have inherited the Halo franchise. 343 has decided that guys like you matter and guys like me don't. Personally I haven't played the multiplayer in a Halo game since the first one. But I've played the campaigns of all of them except for 5. I could get into competitive multiplayer when I was young but when I got older it became about as interesting to me as disco dancing is. And well, I ain't into disco dancing.

I agree, finding out there was no couch co-op was a huge letdown. I'm really enjoying the multiplayer, but I hope they fix some of these issues with H6.

Can we stop pretending Halo ever had some amazing story. Multiplayer has always been this franchise's strength. This is not some new change for the series that came with 343's takeover. Just look at what Bungie moved on to do. Destiny is a game that is built entirely around its multiplayer experience, with absolutely no story.

I'm sorry, but if you were looking for an amazing SP experience from a 6-7 hour shooter, then you bought the wrong game. Divinity Original Sin EE dropped the same day. I highly recommend that for a great solo experience.

If you're looking for a shooter, then Fallout 4 is coming out soon (but all of Bethesda's games have shitty stories too).

If Bungie made Halo 5 there would be no new Spartan abilities. i love the new Spartan abilities. Halo 5 is a beastly game. Get in where you fit in.

campaign wise yea it's bad, right up there with Halo 2's boring story and abrupt cliffhanger ending. But then again Halo's story has never been very good.

Multiplayer, it's mostly still Halo with a little Call of Duty and a lot of Destiny's features added. Swat is really the only game type worth playing.

I'm glad I didn't buy the game I like having a long single player campaign and I knew that the campaign would be short and I'm done with the Halo franchise anyway.

The lack of Splitscreen, the bad campaign, and the req system were really disappointing...
