And to think,4 years ago the argument was "Halo 3 vs. Gears of War"

I'm not sure... It simply says Gears of War 3 vs Halo. You could easily take that to mean it's a comparison of Gears 3 to the Halo series or Reach. Still, this is easily the most compelling evidence I've seen. We'll have to wait and see. Regardless, I still find it very hard to believe we'd be this far in the year without an announcement of a Halo game coming this year. I guess it's not impossible though, Forza 3 was only announced a few months before it's release.
Nothings been confirmed, the comments at the bottom of the article actually make competent arguments.
Wait, is Gears of War VS Halo happening this year? Does anyone even MENTION Halo Reach anymore? Or is there another big Halo coming I didn't hear about? The remake doesn't count
It will only be good if they dont add a bunch of crap into it. The only thing that needs to change are the graphics which from what i hear will be pretty much the same as what we saw with Reach. I dont want any of the Reach stuff like armor abilities or weapons! I dont want the dual wields from Halo 2 and 3! If they make it, I want straight up Halo CE maps and all with improved visuals...Nothing more, nothing less!!
I just want a port to the 360 with online co op. I could care less about updated visuals, or adding in guns, or anything else that would butcher the game beyond all recognition. If they add in guns or dual wielding, I won't buy it and I know none of my friends will either.
...which was in every way better than any of its sequels, so excitement is in orderIt's a remake, people. Essentially the same game you saw 10 years ago.

agreed. BUT how do you get the graphics will look the same because of halo reach? Halo games have a art styaI that they can't just flip on the fly because they want. and I hope it stays that way but that just my opinion.
Ya i don't want any of those options in the game if They make a remake. BUT haveing the option to turn it on/off in custom matchs is needed i say. I wish they put those options in reach custom settings. I enjoy duel wielding when playing with my friends and goofing off or running in room in halo 2 with duel smgs
They just need to have an HD upgrade, add achievements and hook it up to Halo Waypoint. No multiplayer since we have the classic Halo CE playlist for Reach.
That should be enough for a nod to the Halo's 10yr anniversary

IT needs no Online Mp support because of the classic gamestype in other game? Even If thats the case why they ever make other halo after 3? Everything is already made in halo ce How hard is it to hook it up online?

We've all known it's was in development, but looks like, Microsoft's finally decided to make an formal announcement about it. Yes, Halo: CE HD remake is in development and it would be competing with another Microsoft exclusive, Gears of War 3 this year. Update: They've not confirmed this, the magazine's headline is misleading. Apologies for the confusion.

Because Halo 3/Reach's multplayer setup is diverse enough to emulate Halo CE's feel. That's what the custom game types and playlists are for. At this point, the main draw for Halo CE is its campaign.
If they added MP to a Halo CE remake, I predict two sets of complainers beating their chests and screaming to the high heavens because they either changed it too much or didn't change it enough. Then there will be the ones that will rage because they feel like they're gettin gripped off. Why pay for it again, when it can already be emulated in three other games? I dont' believe that, but I'm certain that's what the fanboys will whine about.
It's too much of a PR landmine to change at all.
Just give us the campaign with a bump in graphics and achievements while keeping the price reasonable.
Let's say they add MP to it, how do you envision it?
I see MS/343 releasing a carbon copy of Reach MP with some advertising about the Classic playlist. Maybe release some extra armor add-ons that pays homage to the original. The MP could be on separate disc just like they did with ODST... or include everything on one disc if they can fit it.
But honestly, I don't see the need to include Halo CE MP separate from the other Halos.

Well I want online just cause it should have it... if I'm going to pay full price for it, I want more than just HD graphics as an addition to the 2001 release.[QUOTE="Black_Knight_00"][QUOTE="realguitarhero5"]...which was in every way better than any of its sequels, so excitement is in orderEhh, theyre are all phenomenal. But still, they wouldn't get this excited over buying the 2001 version. The 2001 version didn't have online multiplayer and yet had some of the best maps in any shooter to date. As you can see above, Xbox World 360 magazine is carrying a cover story which pits Halo against Gears of War 3 with the following description:"
Not confirmed
I think that in the remake (if that is at all going to happen) they should definitely focus on how they introduced the FLOOD. man, I remember when I first played the game, that moment was creepy as shTi! if they make it more mesmerizing and capitalize on how crazy and cryptic the flood was before it was this rediculous entity on the later games, that would be kosher. even though I hate the flood, Truly, I do.
Flood was crap to play against in Halo 1 also.I think that in the remake (if that is at all going to happen) they should definitely focus on how they introduced the FLOOD. man, I remember when I first played the game, that moment was creepy as shTi! if they make it more mesmerizing and capitalize on how crazy and cryptic the flood was before it was this rediculous entity on the later games, that would be kosher. even though I hate the flood, Truly, I do.

What game were you playing? Sure, the halls covered in blood were over the top, but when I saw the flood jumping around (in the very beginning when you see the yellow marks on your radar), it scared me a lot. The Library and the level where you swim in coolant fluid were also creepy.

You cannot emulate Combat Evolved's feel at all in Reach. Bloom makes it utterly impossible to have a gun similar to Halo 1's pistol. Halo 1's pistol could kill in three shotswith the final shot being a headshot), Reach's DMR takes five sshots with the final shot being a headshot. The DMR already shoots at a much slower pace and is much less accurate when fire as fast as possible. if you increase the damage output to reduce the amount of shots it takes to kill with the dmr then the sniper becomes WAY too powerful. There is no damage bleedthrough for non power weapons, unlike Halo 1. There was no lunge for the melee in Halo 1, you can't turn the lunge off in reach. You can't modify vehicle splatter damage in Reach, it works completely differently from Halo 1. If they'd just simply do an HD port like you suggested there would be nothing wrong with bringing the multiplayer online. Don't change the multiplayer, just bring it online. People will complain no matter what they get, people expecting change would be stupid though for expecting change from a port.Flood was crap to play against in Halo 1 also.[QUOTE="realguitarhero5"][QUOTE="om3g4_prim3"]

They werent fun to shoot like the Covenant you just strafe and pump them full of AR bullets until they die.... it's like theyre magnetically attracted to your armor or something, and thats the only tactic they used. Please Log In to post.
