genius arguement, i mean Madden, NBA, NHL or MLB dont really differ from the 98 versions, i mean its still the same game right? i mean maybe some updated graphics, but who cares? then theres GTA IV, i mean what else is there to do, u can still jack cars, shoot people and do missions in the first one as well. how bout CoD 4, i mean its just another FPS right, u have guns and u have to kill bad guys, not very inventive if u ask me....
LOL
Having played a ton of FPS's, I can't say it's similar to a lot of other games. It does have a good pace, and there are a lot of detailed factors that make battles complex (weapons, items, vehicles, and the ways that some weapons work differently in different situations).
No, the games aren't too much different between 1-2-3. Graphics are nothing special. Story is a joke. Characters are instantly forgotten. Master Chief has like 5 spoken lines throughout the series. Why it's popular, it's a decent game that experts and casual players can enjoy, I guess. But as for why people actually like the universe or think Master Chief is a cool hero, wow, no idea.
For all of you Halo fanatics out there, I'd like to ask a question: what's the big deal about Halo? I agree, it's fun to play and the co-op and online is good, but what makes it better than those other games that have aliens attacking Earth and a hero that leads the human race to victory? Sure, the first Halo did a few things different, but it isn't that different from the other FPSs out there. Halo 3 doesn't have great graphics, and to tell you the truth the Wii could handle it. Plus, the Halo games aren't that different from eachother. A couple new weapons and vehicles are added: whup de freakin' doo. All I'm saying is that Halo doesn't differ from many other games, and I'd like to here some legitament reasons as to why people are so obsessive over it and what makes it as good as people say it is.rockwii13

I don't get what people like about the Wii, but you don't see me making threads about it.Ziggies
I think the Wii offers something new to people and it gets gobbled up. Like Apple you know, they release anything new and people wait in line a week before it comes out because its from Apple and people want it.
As for the Halo series, i think that it offered fun to everyone of all ages, it barely has gore and blood,(how did it get a M-rating?), and it takes 5 minutes to get used to it.

i agree with you, but a game doesnt have to be inventive to sell. It just has to be hyped beyond belief for the game to sell. CoD4 is ridiculously easy online, 3 shots and someone is dead, but the campaign offers some moments that were stunning. For the sports ones, i have to disagree. Sure its the same thing from 10 years ago, but they added and updated so many things that sets it apart.
