halo custom games

is there a way to play a halo 3 custom game without inviting your friends? is there a way to create a game and then just let random people join?

you can try playing a few matchmaking games and inviting the players from the 'players list' who you met in those games. Or try partying up with people from matchmaking games and trytalking to them to see if they are intrested in playing custom games.
