Thanks for the link, i'm liking the idea of completing challenges to unlock new ranks rather than unlocking new ranks as DLC gets released.
I'll have everything bought by the time they remove it. maybe even the freakin 2,000,000 cr lightning armor. I'm at 62% armor completion already. 117 million? Seriously that's to many! Cute being 117 and all but serious 50 million should do it just fine.
I really don't know why Bungie decided to do this. It killed the game for me. There was just no reason for me to continue playing if I didn't feel as if I was playing for a reason.
i really want that inclemental weather, god it would look awesome haha i dont mind, not close to hitting the cap, and even if i do, the credits still count :)I'll have everything bought by the time they remove it. maybe even the freakin 2,000,000 cr lightning armor. But I understand where DamianAlexander is coming from. It's fun to play, but it's more fun for a lot of people if you have something to shoot for. But if you have no idea when you can attain your goal because of so many outside factors, it can be easy to lose interest.Where have you been? People have been playing games for high scores since arcades were cool. This has been going on for ages.I must be in the minority because I play Reach for the gameplay. Halo 1, 2 and 3 didnt have all this extensive incentive crap. never thought gaming would come to people rentng games just for achievements and playing just for game credits

Anyway I would like to respond as to why I think Bungie did this. It wasn't finished at release.... Notice how it took them a couple weeks to figure out how many challenges needed to be complete? They wanted to find out how fast we completing them as to match that to how long it would take to finish the new armors and everything.
Again that is what I think and isn't necessarily true, but it isn't like the reason why they did it this way matters. No matter what we have to wait.
EDIT: And this makes me not hate the DLC as much. Two new maps, even if they are forge maps, for free is really nice. Hopefully this continues in the future (it happened in Halo 3 for quite some time). I am still wondering if they will restrict the playlists like previous Halo games. I am sure they will, but i'm still crossing my fingers.
the credits you get still count towards your next rank, i doubt you have hit lieutenant colnel grade 3 anywaysI really don't know why Bungie decided to do this. It killed the game for me. There was just no reason for me to continue playing if I didn't feel as if I was playing for a reason.

I hit lt colonel grade 3 9/28/2010 so basically a month ago...

but all the credits you continue to gain will still count towards your next rank when they are updated...Tis true i am not saying it killed the game or anything. It is kind of lame to put a cap on it so casuals can catch up in rank, I can buy the armor i have enough credits to do so but i cant buy it til they lift a rank cap. I dont play the game just for the armor but it did make it more fun. It is a great game i just put it down for now while i play some new games coming out IE new vegas and fable 3.

I said incentives and achievements.. I never said anything about high scores. I remember the arcades, atari and nintendo for beating opponents and the game...not for performing tasks
