I think it's the planet 'Onyx'... There was a book, and it describes the planet... And that is the description of the planet...

so what is onyx and marathon?

ONYX is destroyed at the end of the book so it aint that :P
(Onyx is the planet where a new breed of SPARTANs were being trained)

It could be Marathon. It could be the Forerunner homeworld. Who knows. The former is more likely though, since Bungie always said the two games were related. Master Chief could be that security guy... again, who knows?
