man why does everyone hate halo so much? i think it has an amazing multi-player that call of duty just can't match. call of duty 4 will have a good single player but will it have 4 player co-op? I will probably get both but i would have to give the edge to halo 3, mainly because of the amazing re-play value.GarrettDSIt has amazing replay value for only those people that like it. Not everyone.

First off, this isn't about hate - it's about what's better. I love Halo 3's multiplayer - my only gripe with the game is the same gripe I've always had about the series. The completely uninspired level design. Halfway through level 8 "Cortana" I was literally saying "Okay, I've really had enough." Even after playing through the campaign cooperatively with three others on Legendary, I really have no desire to go through it again. That's why I'm doing the multiplayer - at least until Half-Life 2: The Orange Box comes out and yanks me away from it.
Call of Duty 4, however, looks ready to blow just about every FPS away. The game's way more fast-paced and exciting, and I can say that having only played the beta! Not to mention, I trust Infinity Ward way more than Bungie when it comes to pacing and level design. Not to mention the game runs in full HD (unlike Halo 3) at 60fps.

I don't think I could have said it better myself.
In my opinion, I think that the people who defend Halo 3 the most are the gamers that never moved on from Halo 2. They feel that Halo 2 is the best game in the world, even when games (multiplayer) out-did Halo 2 (example: GoW bested Halo 2 in terms of multiplayer). But the people that refuse to believe any game was better than Halo 2 are the ones who refuse to believe that any game can ever beat Halo 3. I'm sorry to break it to you, but Halo doesn't take the multiplayer cake. It did at one point. That was in 2004 though. Newer, better games are being released and Halo 3 just didn't bring what it needed to be recognized as the "best." COD4 will completely destroy Halo 3 in terms of multiplayer gameplay. The beta of COD4 was better than the full version of Halo 3. You can even take a look around these forums to see that many people are already tired of Halo 3.
In my opinion, Halo 3 took a step backwards in terms of multiplayer. I'd play Halo 2 matchmaking any day over Halo 3...

You are 100% Positive, AAAAAAAA++++++++++
should I buy halo 3 or wait for call of duty 4?xtxelitex
Forget about both and start saving for Gears Of War 2. Lol.
Halo 3 for sure. It is the closest to a perfect game the Xbox 360 has gotten IMO.paranoiasurviva
Don't make me laugh, Halo is not the closest game, the closest game on xbox 360 is Gears of War. Maannnn just to tell the true if you a Player go with Halo 3, But if you a REAL PLAYER You got to go with CALL OF DUTY 4, there is were all the action and competition is.
