Okay people are not making the clear point so I will:
Campaign:
Gears wins, it is much more "emotional" as you get dragged in depth with the characters much more. It is more bloody and hella' fun to play.
Everything else:
Halo 3, multiplayer at its best. You can play properly, for fun or make your own maps and (with DLC) choose from 21 maps.
Plus gears 2 online isnt very good, limited game modes and stuffz.
I mean, gears 2 is fun and all, but after a little while the online dies :(
No I'm not a fanboy, I've got both games.
Gears 2 is glitchy as a pre-schoolers attemtp at making a game, but it beats the hell out of Halo in terms of fun. In Halo's defense, it does actually have a story, unlike Gears. Personally I'd take Mass Effect or some other RPG above either any day.

I'd like to see your attempt at making a game. That's something a pre-schooler would say to be honest.
Anyway, Gears of War 2 is a load of fun, but I found the multiplayer can become tiresome over time. Halo 3 is one of the greatest multiplayer games I have ever played, and I have played many. If people that liked shooters in any way put their fanboy-ish views aside long enough to play some matches online, I'm sure they would enjoy it.
I bought gears of war 2... I regret it. Not my kind of game, I found it boring, and a waste of time. Halo is much better IMOEazyMiles
Complete opposite for me.Every critic and user review i read just claimed how perfect the game was and especially the online(which was what i was looking for) not once did i see a bad score on this game so i went out bought it and found myself so bored that i put it away for a month and started playing Gears of War 2 again.Halo 1 was legendary,is fun today and still is the king of the series, 2 and 3 suck.
One thing that sucks about Gears of War 2?Everyone whinges and whines about every little tweak that happens in a patch and then crys about why the game sucks because it isn't a shotgun fest and its different from Gears of War 1.Never have i heard so much goddamn b******* in my life, can't believe EPIC puts up with there **** and then does what they ask because more people go on the forum again and just complain. Its so Pathetic.
yeh that is a bit of an issue, i think you should get points for kills but also a bonus for winning; that way you are rewarded for how well u do and there is an incentive to win which promotes team play instead of 4 lone wolvesHalo 3.
only bad thing about Halo 3 is that you only get exp from winning, not your kills. So you can have more kills than anyone, lose the match, and not receive a single exp point.

The multiplayer is more fun to me in Halo 3. Plus I love watching the replays. I couldnt get into everyone rolling on the floors like olympic gymnastics dodging bullets and running away in gears. It looks comical. I like the cover system better in rainbow six than gears.
Halo 3 hands down, the online is way more fun and funny **** that goes on with my friends in custom games/forge is awesome.

Gears 2, way more fun, and you don't feel like you are inflated with helium when you walk
instead you feel like a magnet with the cover system and a gymnist with those stupid forward body rolls in gears.
You could fix either of these problems with MODERN WARFARE[QUOTE="DFBTG"]

Ever heard of a hyperbole? If not, please look it up. It'll not only teach you a new word, but also (might) prevent you from making unnecessary comments that could potentially end up with you making a fool out of yourself.

HaHa, Good One. (no sarcasm intended)I like Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 the same. Gears of War 2 has a better campaign and online when there is no lag. But Halo 3 has a lot more options and video clipping and it's not nearly as laggy. If there was no lag, Gears of War 2 but since the multiplayer is all sorts of **** up they are even for me.
Edit: Halo Wars however is becoming my first choice for multiplayer.
