your no longer a super soldier that can jump 10 feet and have sheilds. I dont see how it could be similar to the gameplay of halo 3 other than the setting and the gadgets.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the book, "Halo: Falls of Reach" if that is the correct title, and in the trailer you can hear "Spartans Falling".
Reach was one of the most important military planets to the UNSC. It was glassed right before the beginning of Halo: Combat Evolved. In fact thats exactly what Captain Keys and the crew of the Pillar of Autumn had just ran from at the beginning of the game. There wasa book about it called Halo: The Fall of Reach. Judging from the trailer you'll liking be playing that part of the story. So yeah, it's a prequel to Halo: Combat evolved. And since theres gonna be a beta for the game I'm assuming it's the next big Halo game if Bungie is building a new multiplayer for it.
I was thinking about this game, and on the B.NET forums I mentioned this too. I think it's either: 1. Game of "The Fall of Reach" - AWESOME 2. Sequal to Halo 3, following on from the ending as the introduction is vaugely simmilar to the ending of Halo 3 - Unlikely, but good if it was 3. Prequal to Halo 1 - Very, very possible. This comes under #1 i guess 4. A total different game - Bungie name it reach, doesnt have to do with the fall of reach (not much else it can be, but hey!) Anybody? I'm picking 1, 2 or 3. 4 Is pretty much out of my idea, but possible.

Yeah, I remember that too. I think the last thing that you hear spoken is something like, "We have Spartans on the ground sir."
You know what, no matter how much Bungie tell me or I tell myself that they ended the Halo series at #3. I can't see one of the worlds best selling titles and most played game ending on a cliffhanger THIS wide open to new content. They can just end a HUGE series on "He floats in space until he needs to pee."
The early Halo 2 trailer was sort of similar, a planet burning with a lot of COMM chatter in the background (before the Chief jumps into space)... if I had to guess though, I don't want to be let down, so I'm thinking it's more episodic if anything. More story, a couple new features, but nothing drastically changed. It just re-affirms the key events in the Fall of Reach to establish Halo's backstory to the masses who haven't bothered to read the novel.
If it is going the way most people think (fall of reach), Bungie are technically doing movie games, like wolverine and that new game. But with....novels! Most don't work out well, but I think with Halo's strong background it SHOULD come out to be an outstanding game. P.S to all who care in UK, you CAN preorder is guaranteed right now from game. all i know is that there are going to be multiple spartans...finally. I hope they change the gameplay up a bit. Try a new formula.

I didn't even think about that and I've been wanting a Halo shooter with multiple spartans for a while now. They should definitely make a game about the Spartan III's some time though.

I'm pretty sure it will be based off that book...which means that will be the introduction of the Spartans. Should be very interesting.
Its coming clear that Bungie has no talent but to release Halo titles for the rest of their days. They are going to milk this francise to death. Its all pretty uch the same game with different player skins. Unless they completely revamp the gameplay its going to be a snooze fest.

No talent...It is one of the, if not the worlds biggest selling and best known series.
bungie has said for like 3 years that they were going to some day do a prequal. i just hope it's a full game, new engine, new campaign, and all new online
