Halo Reach- Inconsistent Reviews!!!

The reviews have come in so far, and they are strange to say the least. I am not going to attack their personal opionions, but I will point out how strangve it is that they say Halo Reach is the best Halo game ever, then give it the lowest review scores of all four games. I find it strange how they call the campaing deep and say how the online puts other games to shame, then give it lower reviews than modern warfare 2!! I love how they are nitpicking the tiniest details that may possibly be not so perfect and call it justice to give it a 90?! Too many features is a problem? Hopw about how one reviewer says it is a plethora of goodies while another complains it lacks enough maps and how forge is pointless and firefight is just transferred from ODST. How one reviewer says the campaign is 12 hours while another complains how much he hated the five hour campaign.

I have never seen reviews be so inconsistent ever! None of them can agree on something, seriously! It seems that they were reallyh afraid to be accused of giving biased reviews, so they made it as brutal as possible. While if a 93 on metacritic is as brutal as they could get, that is still saying something. This game is still top notch!

Bioshock 1 scored higher then Reach btw.

Anyway, the score doesn't really matter. If you buy it & like it, great. "Professional opinions" aren't always the best.

Who cares about meta critic? Means nothing really. Just read reviews from sites and reviewers you know and trust so you will have a better idea of how good a game is before you play it.

But, if a site gives it 8.0 you will click the link to the review because it stands out from the ordinary. Many other users will do this too since they are intrigued by the irregularity. Now, each user that visits the site will load advertisements and generate revenue for the owners of the site. So by performing the action of giving Halo Reach an absurdly low score, something that will incur no expenses they will have made large amounts of money. Honest reviewing is dead.

The funniest I have seen is from IGN. They praise the game the whole way through and then mention that 13 maps is a bit less for launch (even though Halo 3 launched with like 10 maps and he admitted more will probably be added via DLC) and then IGN us gave it a 9.5 while IGN UK's base scores were the EXACT SAME but they gave it a 10 :?93soccer

Reach for me is an 8.5, im not trying to flame or whatever, im just not a faboy. The game feels ok from what i played, definitly overrated.Hakud0ushi

I don't really read any reviews other than GS. Though I disagree with even them sometimes, too.

After the Metroid: Other M reviews, I can honestly say I don't care for critic-reviews.

Different strokes for different folks. And the variability on the campaign length can simply be explained by the various difficulty options.

IGN is trash

IGM Uk gave it a 10, ign us gave it a 9.5, machinima.com gave it a 9.5, joystick gave it a 5/5, gamesreactor gave it a 10 i think, metecrtic gave it a 93. Were was it given an 8 other than gamesradar

I pre-ordered the game from Zavvi.com and got it yesterday.:D I completed the campaign on Heroic difficulty in about 12 hours. You could obviously complete it faster than that especially if you were playing on easy but 5 hours still seems ridiculously fast to me.

By the way I'd personally give the campaign an 8.5, it was very good but I wasn't blown away by it. I haven't played any multiplayer yet though.

I bet half the people that actually complain about how bad Halo is actually play it to death and actually love it to death but just like to bash it. I myself can't wait for this game although I hated Halo 3. I loved Halo CE and Halo 2 though and this game looks like a mix of all three put together. A lot of people I used to play with will probably start playing again. A lot of people who were diehard Halo fans quit because of Halo 3 and hopefully this bring back my love for playing it back along with the people I used to play with. I truely miss it.

I find it kind of funny how people think there is some gigantic conspiracy behind Halo Reach ratings.

Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 all were outstanding games with ODST being the black-sheep of the family and it was a stand-alone game.

Halo Reach is an AAA title, possibly(hopefully) even a 10. Microsoft doesn't need to pay ANYBODY to give Halo a good rating, the game and it's predecessors have proven that already.

Halo Reach is going to get 9.5 at a minimum. No sense arguing or complaining about it, Halo fanboys and haters alike.

So far it is averaging 93 still with about 32 reviews. Halo 3 had 86 critics review it so it's not over yet we will just have to wait and see. Still though a great score either way though. You might be talking about Gamespot though and they gave Halo 3 a 9.5 so I wouldn't doubt it will get it again.
