Alot of people are saying that Reach could in fact become the best FPS on the console. What do you guys think?

If Black ops fixes some of the problems with MW2, I think it will be tough to beat. I've been playing MW2 latley, and tried to get back into Halo 3, and couldn't. Halo 3 seems a little slow.
It all depends on your taste of shooters. I think Halo Reach will be a blast and i'll be playing for years to come.
That will be the "chic" thread topic for 2011. Or maybe Noble 6 vs. MC threads. But Halo fanboys don't really fight amongst themselves with such ferocity. I guess we can put to bed the Halo 3 vs COD threads from 2007 to 2010. BTW TC, have you seen Rage?stay tuned for years of"black ops vs Reach" threads. there will never be a clear agreement. i hope there are tons of great FPS and not just one.

good riddance "Halo 3 vs COD threads from 2007 to 2010", lol
I think next years FPS make Reach & COD redundant. Crysis 2, BRINK, Dues Ex,etc... .YoungSinatra25
I can see those games being epic for single player campaigns but can they compete multi-player wise for longevity?

Yea, others like titles like COD, Bad Company etc.
It will probably be the highest rated FPS or at least very close to it. Although I prefer Team Fortress 2 and BF:BC 2 over it.
Not the best, but it will be one of the best for sure. Another big hitter that is also coming will be Crysis 2. Either way, Halo Reach will keep me occupied for a very long time indeed ;).
My Goal Was to Finish this game Before the Release and i finally beat it well the Campain Mode that is but I'm still waiting so i can play it Online Though and still waiting for the release so i can - But yes its worth its heart and gold cause iv beaten it already and still saying you should buy this!

I think it will there's a lot of content plus with community stuff the content can really be almost endless. Lots of gamemodes, split-screen stuff which I love, and so on. Although it won't beat TF2 on PC, it's close.
me_rock
TF2 gets old fast.
Yes....Yes it will.
Who's its competition black ops? same game every year with the exception of more bugs every year.
Medal of Honor? The game isn't unique at all, its a mw2 and a bfbc2 rip off.

I really hope so.. Im very excited for it either way!
@BLAS1AN, Google: gametrailers.com Crysis 2 Hero's journey footage (GT.com has the best quality vid)... Then tell me what you think. YoungSinatra25
The spawn system was terrible and the guys in the video were even worse.
About 4 times during that video an enemy spawned within 5 feet of him.
I agree with you on Brink though. Too bad it's going to get overlooked by all the Halo and CoD fanboys.

My oh my, you are so out of touch with the world I can see. From this post and others..
Mom & Pop shops have sold the game early and even some big name retailers like BestBuy and Target around the world have broken the street date.
Why is it so hard to believe games get leaked early or that stores break the release date. This happens all the time..

They didn't spawn in front of him they were invisble then turned visble. You couldn't tell that?... Guess not. Also the footage is "100% staged". Also obvious. The vids there to showcase the gameplay/mechanics and the overall potential of the Crysis 2 sandbox. We get Halo's newest features (sprinting isn't a special ability Bungie... dumb asses) with COD class & weapon customization plus added mobility. BRINK's mobility is leages ahead, of course, but climbing ledges in any FPS is a game changer in my book. Next years FPS's look awesome. This year.. eh!Not if you don't like Halo. For me it will be with the amount of content Reach has that will keep me playing for years. RoslindaleOne
Well seeing as we have not played it we should wait until Tuesday to make an informed opinion. But my message to you RoslindaleOne is at the moment we have Single Player, Co-Op, Multiplayer, Forge world and Fire Fight with matchmaking so it appears that it will be one of the most complete game packages out there.
I may be wrong but I could be in the minorityby buying this for the Campaign first and multiplayer second.
All I will say is its STILL gonna be Halo so im not expecting to many big changes ( apart from space combat ).

After playing the beta to get the feel of Reach, and been following it with Bungie updates, I have a good idea on how well the game will come out. Now, its true I have to play it first, but I'm positive I'll will love the game since I'm a huge Halo fan (not fanboy I like other shooters too). I'm big for the campaign as well. I want to play the story as bad as cruising around Forge World and playing MP. It's just the icing on the cake for me. :)[QUOTE="Zeus89x"][QUOTE="YoungSinatra25"]@BLAS1AN, Google: gametrailers.com Crysis 2 Hero's journey footage (GT.com has the best quality vid)... My point is they're going to try and make it look as good as possible. When it comes to the gamers actually getting their hands on the game that's when things change.
If you never played Halo and you watched a video you would think there was a wide variety of weapons to choose from. They use every gun, however, while actually playing, you see maybe three guns used. It's a completely different game and Crysis 2 should wait to be judged.
I think Brink gets a free pass only because like you said, it's making significant changes to the FPS genre and it's definitely a must-buy for me.
