What kind of question is that? Duke Nukem has been pretty much abandoned for the last 10+ years. Since then, there have been a lot of Halo games. It's obvious. Halo has been shown to a newer audience, so it is more popular with both the newer audiences and the vets.

Not only that, but the younger crowd would possibly never have heard of it if it wasn't for this latest Duke Nukem game. Also non gamers know of Halo. The one and only game my mom ever tried was Super Mario 64, yet she knows of Halo and probably wouldn't recall Duke Nukem unless we showed her the case for it,

I guess its kind of cool and niche to love Duke Nukem but i kind of find him overrated. *ducks for cover*

Halo wins for me.

The Duke series has been dead for like more than a decade while Halo started in that time frame and attained a large fanbase through many installments. Halo should be many times the size of Duke. I would assume that the majority of the people who comprise Duke's fanbase are those that actually played the game when it first came out.

This isn't even an argument. Halo has one of the strongest name recognitions in the industry. People who've never played a Halo game know of Halo..

agreed. halo is a more successful brand without a doubt. more popular by a landslide. even Halo2 by itself is more popular than Duke.

It's easilly Halo. Duke Nukem had one game over ten years ago whereas Halo has been pumping out blockbusters for the past decade.

well since duke is the king of 3d shooters, with out duke, we wouldnt need esrb, without duke shooting hookers would be a gta exlusive, with out duke, ripping off alien heads and crapping down their throats while reading the news paper wouldnt be cool, with out duke i would never have a chuckle every time i hear someone say im all out of gum, with out duke doom would be the greatest fps of the dos era, halo can suck a joystick, sorry halo fans, numbers dont matter, loyalty to what made staying up for 3 days strait living on cold pizza and jolt cola just to play one more duke match, one more one more, damn it mom one more... yeah that was the greatest feeling in the world, until my first girlfriend... but still there is only nothing that beats duke exept well u know what beats duke if you have ever had a girlfriend wife or plastic peice of a womans anatomy that feels close to it...

Well I have never really played Duke so I wouldn't be able to say much about it but this post intrigued me so I took a look at the n64 version cause that was all I could get my hands on and I loved it. Personally I dislike Halo's gameplay because of the kinda pick up a gun and fire a million times until the person dies thing that it has. But yeah Halo definitely has a bigger fan base. Duke is a thing of the past and Halo is right now. I prefer Duke though to be honest but haven't played much.

Halo by far, I'd say. I prefer Duke Nukem (I've actually downloaded both 3D after not playing it for MANY years, and Manhattan Project on the XBLA deals this week). Duke is just an "older" name, I would say. Halo did start a decade later but it has surpassed Duke's popularity. Take Call of Duty for instance. 10 years ago, nobody even knew of Call of Duty (unless there was information this early about a new WWII shooter? I can't remember), and it surpassed Medal of Honor's popularity. It's just how games happen sometimes. Popularity doesn't always mean one is better than the other though, it's just how it happens sometimes. But for me, I would say I probably enjoy good ol' Duke Nukem more, especially since I never really could get that much in to Halo. Halo to the King, baby :P.
