Hi all

Couple of days ago I purchesed a new xbox slim Halo edition. Its working fine as far as I can tell but this morning when I started the console a couple of times it made a grinding sound. very much like in this video:

It only does this on cold start up when i first log on for the day/evening

I keep it flat in a open space on a table so its got plenty of ventilation ect.

is it normal? Or am i been very paranoid since my last xbox died on me? ahem:P

thanks

I'd say any grinding noise is something to worry about. My Slim is very quiet when it is starting up and running. I'd say take it back and get another one if you can. If not call MS. Does the noise seem to be coming from the hard drive area or the DVD area?

Um, this doesn't happen to mine, nor any of my friends with slim models. Honestly, I wouldn't be worried, but the best way to see if something is indeed wrong is to place a disc that you don't care for into the tray and turn off the 360. If the discs are getting scratched upon startup, then I would definetly do like the above poster said and take it back or send it in.
