I recently dusted off my old halo disk (whichisn't all that old) and played through the game in heroic difficulty. Of course I've been playing it on backwards compatibility. Anyway I got to the library level and I thought, "Why does everyone hate this level, this is so freaking awesome." I love the library level full of chaotic shotgun action, flood running at you from all directions, trying to figure which direction you came from and which direction you have to go. Maybe it's just an opinion. but go back and play one of those long flood levels that never seem to end, and you may realize it'sallot more fun than you remember.
The level design. Your essentially walking through the same exact hall ways and rooms, over and over and over. And strategy to killing flood is pretty basic and reptitive... Then Again I can't really see why the people who enjoy playing Left 4 Dead can really complain about the flood.
But tc... You made me realise somthing. Why on earth do people act so bad toward the flood but turn around and act like zombies are the coolest thing? If anything, I don't get the nerd facination over Zombies. Or pirates and ninjas. IMO, Dinosaurs & giant robots >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pirates>Ninjas>zombies.
The library level is the worst designing ever it's nothing but the same stuff throughout the whole level. But, besides that Halo is a great game.gcfreak898
It's not exactly the same stuff over and over again although it is pretty linear but that's not necessarily a bad thing. To go from one checkpoint to the next, it's not like you're going through the same type of doorway over and over again. There's a few areas where you go through tunnels instead, others where the doors get stuck, and an area where you have to watch your step. If you think about it, every video game has repetition and it's impossible to avoid.

I love the flood and zombies i never knew a lot of people hated the flood. Anyway dinosaurs and robots do kick ***.

I just didn't like the environment and the lack of combat voices. (covenant and human) Compared to the lively and colorful outdoor and covenant environments, it feels too dark and colorless.
I just didn't like it because it was looking at the same grey metal for a really long time (or it seemed long to me). The level felt a little too long for all that you did... which was use the shotgun for 90% to kill the same 3 types of enemies in some grey metal (Forrunner) building. But that isn't to say it is my least favorite level because Cortana on Halo 3 was much worse to me.

I don't mind the Flood, it's just the repition of the library that annoys me. That and it's predictability. You come to a closed door and Gulty Spark has to run off and unlock it. Hmmm....I wonder if I'm going to get attacked by the flood.....

If that made shotguns your fav weapon. Then play star wars republic commando. You don't get the shotgun until a little later in the game, but when you do, you go blasting away at those little geonociens (I have no idea how to spell geonociens) in a crazy ballistic frenzy that you won't find anywhere else. In fact I think that's my favorite first person shooter other than all the halo games. Actually there about tied, I know some of you might kill me for saying that, but that's what I believe. If your going to kill someone, kill my friend, ben. He says that halo is an over rated copy of doom (I don't know why but he despises halo).
