Halo The movie (Peter Jackson) and Gearbox

Gearbox did Halo for the PC which seems to be good. They did a good expansion for Half Life. The Brothers in Arms series was great (on the Xbox and PC at least). The new Brothers in Arms is looking good, Borderlands could turn out well. I really like Randy. I think they could do a good job.

Well I think the final product would come out pretty good, since Gearbox developed the original Halo.

I think that Gearbox can do a great job. in fact, a developer change might be a good thing. I could see the Halo series getting stuck in a rut if Bungie did 4 and onwards. Some simple changes in gameplay, graphics style, and story could really pan out, especially with a competent developer like Gearbox heading the project

I think Gearbox would make a good Halo 4. As other posters have noted, they've made some excellent games in the past, and they've already worked on Halo in the form of the PC version of Combat Evolved. Is Gearbox supposed to develop a Halo game specifically from the movie, or just a general Halo 4? That seems kinda odd, making a game based on a movie based on a game.

Gearbox is also developing Aliens: Colonial Marines, based off the Alien franchise, and Heat, based off the 1995 film. It's been a long time since I've played a good Alien shooter, so that'll be fun.

I think that if a halo 4 comes out or anything thats supposed to continue the halo series I probably won't buy. bungie created halo; storyline, gameplay, everything. I just don't see anyone meeting the bar that bungie set. who knows maybe I'm wrong, but I have been a fan since halo 1, and I just don't think another halo game would be as good if its not developed by bungieAtreyu606

Apparently, Bungie didnt set the bar high enough. Halo hasnt even evolved. Halo 1, 2, and 3 are nearly identical. We need another developer that can take Halo to new heights with a fresh new spin.

Totally agree with u. Change can be good.

Although a huge fan of Bungie's Halo, I would love to see another's take on the franchise. I really enjoy Gearbox's games, and could see them doing a great job.

I think both Gearbox and Epic know how to handle the Unreal Engine 3 pretty good, so I think both of them would have been good choices. Besides, I think Bungie did a pretty good job with the first Halo, good with the second one, but the X360 got out of their hands, so the third installment was just decent. I would be good to see gearbox using some of their knowledge, and introduce some tactics into the game, like... you could still play as Master Chief, but giving directions to your squad(like BIA); also introduce a good covering system and destroyable enviroments.

Change is always a scary and risky proposition. The posibility of a huge blunder is always there and yes Halo is still fun to play, despite of all the nay-sayers (in my opinion). However, I don't see why we should be content with the current game and technology of Halo 3 (not that it has been a mind-blowing game to begin with). The possibilities are endless. One good example, as mentioned above, is a tactical approach. Like for instance the Brothers in Arms or the Tom Clancy R6 point of view. Or maybe have another character other than Master Chief, as mentioned above also. There will always be many people who don't like messing around with a good thing, and I don't blame them. But Microsoft (if they can) should pass the game along to a different developer who has a proven track record of making great games --- God knows who that is. Hey it might just turn into something good amd if not, I'm quite sure Gamespot will have something to say about it. We all know how great and fair their reviews are (sarcasm).

You know, Chief's a suit all the time. It really doesn't matter who plays him. Honestly, how many of you can name the guy who played Darth Vader, without looking it up? (It's David Prouse, and I don't even know if I'm spelling his name right.) A studio would be nuts to dish out the money for Will Smith, when you hardly ever see him. All you need is a stunt guy who's expressive with his body movement, and the original Master Chief voice actor (that one I don't know).

Man I was going to look it up until you said "without looking it up." dang! But you're right. It really doesn't matter who's playing Master Chief, unless of course if he had to remove his helmet. You wouldn't want Dave Chappelle's face to pop out in the middle of a great scene and says "I'm rich biyatch!" Now that would be funny though! Who was the voice actor of the first Halo anyway?
