Halo = The Yankees of gaming. What's your oppinion.

This is a pretty solid comparison I think. Both big franchises and lots of people love to hate them. All you Halo haters out there ask yourself this... If everyone who played Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 just dropped it and stopped playing it, Would you still hate the franchise?

EPIC amount of FALSE in your reply, I don't hate the game it was the first game i purchased on 360, numerous forums and threads has led me to believe it's overated lol.

I really like the games, like the whole 'world' they created in the game, and the weapons and vehicles and gameplay and SPARTANs and Master Chief and all that rut. I don't go as far as reading Halo novels or anything, but if I ever came across one I might be tempted to pick it up. I like the games a lot, I am a proud owner of Halo 3, and if you don't like it don't playit really. I don't go around dissingCall of Duty because I dislike war stuff.

Just because one thinks its overrated dosnt mean that person hates it. There are people that can be objective and mature about things.

I do think that series is overrated. I had some okay fun in the single player, but the multi never got to me, and the single player wasnt mind blowing or that special. But it was still decent.

I love the game, including the MP and especially the story in the SP. I just don't understand why some people play Halo 3 (and even Halo 2 to this day) 24/7 when there are other games. I mean it's a great game, but some people need to have an open-mind on other types of games as well.

Once again with you guys thinking its OVERRATED as if that is making you sound more "mature". Its you voicing your opinion....and so be it. But know this.

It's just a game, that there are alot of fans of. Sure a few people here and there take it too far. But you cannot single out Halo of everything that is over rated. Of course this like you is my opinion.......I find all the madden games Over rated....and all the NBA games over rated, because people are ALL expecting bigger better things in the following titles, when there all truly the same thing.

If you can't come up with 5 good reasons as to why you hate the game, then you have no reasonable justification as to hating the game. The game isn't gonna go away because you guys think its over rated so just leave it alone. Halo will be heard and talked of for years to come.

Halo is not bigger then MGS, GTA, Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy so therefore its not the Yankees of gaming... But I love Halo to death

I just don't like them. I rented Halo 3 and... Meh. I also own Halo 2... Meh. They're just okay to me. Pretty fun multiplayer, with friends, but the single player is really disappointing... But you know, everyone has an opinion. So whatever floats your boat.

It was not a short game, because then it would be short as most other games. Personally, I think that the SP in the Halo games are very balanced in all aspects.

Halo CE=Intense and plain awesome.

Halo 2=Crap ruined halo.

Halo 3=Its okay i can only handle a few matches online before turning it off.

Like to play it. A good game.

how can a megamillion dollar successful franchisea and top 5 most played LIVE game since release date be called overrated?. I'm not trying to change anyones opionions to like the game but Its annoying how any topic with the word HALO in it has poeple replying with there lame attempt at bashing the game.

Do I like Halo? Yes, I think it's a very good game. Do I think it should be considered the best game ever or even just the best on Xbox 360? No, but it is very good. Well above-average.

I can't believe how some people think just because a game sells good makes it the best game ever. Look at the Godfather 2, it went platinum... it got a 4.5 rating. I mean seriously, Halo 3 is overrated. I LOVE the game, but overall, it doesn't have anything in it that makes it better than Call Of Duty or Gears Of War. THAT IS A MATTER OF OPINION, but with some facts mixed in. What does Halo have to offer that Call Of Duty or Gears does not?

Yep, I agree.

It is not like I want to marry the game or something but it is fun to play every once and a while with friends.

I still play it almost daily and love it.

So, because MANY people enjoy playing Halo, that makes it overrated? Is that why people bash it? Cause it's popular? In my opinion, Halo has been a great MP franchise for me. The single player is truly enhanced if you've read the books, and honestly a great experience.

I love the MP more than the SP, though. If I do something, I don't half ass it, so I'd have to play the SP in-depth and read the books lol :). So, it's a great game, for me, at least.TBH, the only one that held my attention SP wise a little was CE, and that game was one of all-time favorite games.

I've spent countless hours getting entertainment from it, and won't stop. (CoD4 was very fun as well)

Dude no point in fueling the Halo bashing hobby. I only played the Halo 3 it was fun,period. Don't keep dragging it down unnecessarily. If you like it play it, or else forget it, no sense bickering overing it.

Forge, meta-game and saved films. Oh, let's not forget creating your own map variants and games modes to share with the community. There might be more but that's a few to answer your question. Whether you like them or not is a matter of opinion, but that's what Halo 3 has what Gears and Call Duty does not.
