I'm pretty sure Halo Wars was very profitable, hasn't it sold close to 2 million copies? I think any game that sells that much will get a sequel. I definitely think, and expect, that there will be a Halo Wars 2. I few improvements, and it could be amazing. I mean Halo Wars is fun as hell.

You're right actually, but I think the next might not be profitable since it was poorly received. Most of the people who bought it were disappointed that it a) was simplified compared to other RTS games or b) wasn't an FPS. I know at least three people who returned it because "wtf lul all u do is watch ppl fite dats not a real gaem". Its fanbase is dedicated but small.

You mean going bankrupt as in Microsoft shutting them down? They just didn't think Ensemble made enough out of all their owned developers... that doesn't mean they were bankrupt... it just means MS are douche bags..... I could see it happening just because MS wants money, but i can't imagine who would make it.

I like Halo Wars a lot so I am hoping there is a second one. What I really wish they would do is release better download content such as a new race and more maps. They are releasing a new map pack this month but it's four maps for $10 and the download content before that was even a bigger ripoff but of course I bought it anyway.

No they didn't. Microsoft closed them down. They never said why, but one of the former members speculated it was because all Ensemble did was make RTS games and were they highest payed Microsoft dev that only occasionly made a game. And I'm pretty certain Halo Wars made a big profit. They deffintely never said it was expensive and the game doesn't look expensive. The game sold well over one million units.
its always possible i suppose,,,but i would say it wont be in the near future as microsoft probably want to explore other genres and such for the series.
I'd like to see a sequal personally, theres a lot of potential for a spin off franchise (assuming certain problems like boring characters can be sorted)

Probably not, but here's to hoping right? It sold well over a million coppies, 8,000+ people still play it online, and it's Halo. Once Bungie is done with Reach, who knows? Microsoft may try their hand at it with their own internal studio(and help with the ex-ensemble team that made the DLC for Halo Wars). Again, very doubtful...but I hope so.

Well over a million copies sold. I'd have to think that that's profitable. However, I doubt we'll see a Halo Wars 2..
OMG i am going to say this again. Ensemble Studios broke up to form two different studios. One of those is Robot Entertainment. That studio is working with Microsoft Game Studios(MGS) and is in charge of Managing Halo Wars. Bungie Will have NOTHING to do with any Halo Wars games and MGS will not be making it either. Their will most likely be a 2nd Halo Wars and if their is Robot Entertainment will handle it. The team from Ensemble Studios that handled Age of Empires and Halo Wars is NOW Robot Entertainment.
