i know its the demo and not the full game but so far i totally like this game better than halo 2&3 (no one can beat number 1 imo), halo wars just seems alot more fun and interesting than those 2, does anyone else agree with me or am i the only one?

Finding most Statergy games more frustrating than fun, I haven't tried it, and probably never will. Being an FPS fan, there is no way it coud be better than the Halo series for me. Its probably just another basic Stratergy formula game of mine, build, upgrade, destroy with a Halo skin on it.
I wonder how popular the game would be if it just didnt have Halo written on it, and they change the sounds and skins on units to a standard looking military unit. ..Not very I'm guessing. Everything that made the Halo FPS series great are not applicable for this game type, so I do know...

I haven't played it myself and only watched my brother play for a bit but I have to say that it does look pretty damn fun. However, Halo Wars is a totally different genre than H2 or H3. mixmax5
Exactly. It's a totally different type of game so you really can't compare them.

And yet they still made it a FPS.... IMO RTS is for PC

Then why even have a rating system if we can't have standards of games or, better yet, get rid of GOTY awards since we can't compare games. *rolls eyes* If any thing, I think Halo Wars will give new life to the series because it's a different genre. PC snobs will ignore the game because they think that RTS games only work on the PC, while never have played the C&C games or the Halo Wars demo.[QUOTE="cuddlesofwar"][QUOTE="axeman87"]Just in. Then don't play it; many people won't care if you miss out on a good game just because it's not on a PC and you're not willing to learn new controls.[QUOTE="TheSylntChamber"][QUOTE="cuddlesofwar"] Just in. Halo was created as an RTS first.doomsoth

I tried HW & its pretty good, I have to admit. But I sure as hell missed my M&K. For example...I was trying to seperate my units into groups by the tried & true 'click & drag, number key ' method and was lost. The fact is, RTS needs a lot of controls for it to work well. On an Xbox360 controller you only have have 8 buttons, and combinations. The keyboard has heaps (over 100 base buttons I think).
Sure the system can be simplified to work on the console, but the fact remains that an RTS needs a lot of buttons for it to work at its full potential. You ever wonder why HW wasnt released on the PC as well? The answer is...PC users would ****** wreck console players.
Not to say HW isnt a good game though...in fact I'll probably even buy it.
halo wars better than halo 2 and 3?
to be fair, when i first heard about a new halo...being an rts i was a bit skeptical. then i thought, oh maybe it could be good.
and then to my ''surprise'' when the demo came out. i thought i was an utter bad of w*nk, honestly, it has the worst base layout i've ever seen, no unit position placement, unable to mold units together, everything just clumps together when you order all units to attack soething so what could be a swift win, ends up taking 5 mins cos the warthogs or tanks are trapped behind ground units...*which is also another matter* the movements are unrealistic. gameplay is generally bad, the only things i found good about halo wars is unlimited money, graphics and the fact that you can rape and enemies with like....7 units of ODST soldiers...oh and co-op campaign.
honestly they really should have played command on conquer 3 before they made this. because with all honesty, that's way better than halo wars ¬_¬

It was originaly an RTS/Shooter. Bungie later dropped the RTS aspects of the game.
