Achievement: Ready for the sequel (100% Completion)
I looked over my achievements and spotted this. I earned this a long time ago and now that I look back at it I realized, where's our sequel :(

I thought sequel is the Halo series. Halo War is between one of the episodes. Time don't rememebr the timeline. Need to watch IGN video for timeline again.magicalclick
Mmm I don't think so, I wouldn't call Halo 3 the sequel to Halo, considering halo 3 came out 2 years before Halo Wars. I do understand that Halo War's story was before Halo 1, but it's also before Halo Reach (I think?) and I wouldn't call Halo Reach the sequel either. When I think about A Halo War's sequel, I think of another epic Rts, but who knows dude you may be right, and if you are then I'm sad :(

Need to watch IGN video for timeline again.magicalclickHalo Wars takes place roughly twenty years before all the other Halo games. It's plot isn't continued at all in the other Halo products. That fate of it's cast has yet to be revealed. Anyway, no Halo Wars 2 has been announced. Halo Wars itself sold around two million, which is solid though it doesn't even scrape any where near even ODST's sales. I'd say a sequel is possible but I wouldn't count on it. Even if there is no Halo Wars 2 game I'm sure 343 will wrap up that story in some way eventually.

I'm going to say you got that achievement pic from Raptr because it's always glitching the wrong pics. It looks like something from the new Mortal Kombat.
On topic, since Ensemble was closed down, I think they've shelved any idea of a sequel.
While Halo Wars sold well, it wasn't the success they hoped for. It sold because of the Halo name, and while it got reviewed reasonably well, it still holds just a low 80 score on MetaCritic IIRC.
Even though thats a "great" score, these days it just doesn't justify a sequel that's going to sell well.
I also doubt 343 are going to take the reigns and try to make a sequel themselves because they just don't have the necessary skills. Ensembles previous titles had all been RTS's and they had years of experience.
Any sequel would be lackluster and not worth the time, effort or money.
If it was, we'd have seen a sequel by now.

Lol I didn't realize that dude I re-checked my halo wars achievements and the pics were of... *drumroll*
Yep, Mortal Kombat vs Dc, even though I never played the game : p I'm gonna try to find the real pic for this achievement.
Anywho, what happened to ensemble?? Bah I hope 343 steps up though I'd really want a sequel

I am positive Microsoft never planned for Ensemble to make a sequel because they knew they were shutting them down with Halo Wars being completed. But that doesn't mean there can't be a sequel from another developer. I mean a new Age of Empires is coming out (even though it is a f2p game) and Ensemble were the original creators of that series.
If Microsoft does end up getting another developer to make a sequel then I almost hope they develop it for Xbox 360 and PC. I understand they would rather sell their games on their own console, but real time strategy games are built for PCs and it could only help sales.
I liked Halo Wars, and I still never understand why it was not released for the PC.
I'd like to see a sequel the story was pretty good.
There wont be a sequal, it terms of a Halo game, Halo Wars was a flop and the studio who made it shut down im pretty sure.

I realise Gear of War 3 is going to be the most incredible thing since sliced bread.
The user whos words I have in my sig didn't seem to think so and asked me to quote him.
He's very, very wrong.

Ah I see, dang I hope the next devs can make something on par with the first, hopefully better, and yeah I agree with releasing it on pc dude I'm not sure why they never did that, it would've been perfect. Well, in case they do make a sequel, I'd like to see these things: more of the same cinematics, controls, and gameplay mechanics. I'd also like there to be more covenant and humans, and also more leaders, but I don't want them to add so much that it makes it unbalanced and awkward to play :?They closed Ensemble, but started a new studio called Robot Studios, comprised of pretty much all the same people. I really don't even know the point in it, but their new title, Age of Empires Online is solid, I can say from playing in the closed and open betas.

This has given me hope :D
Ensemble actually split up into 4 different studios.. and none of them, last I checked, were involved anymore with AoE Online. They closed Ensemble, but started a new studio called Robot Studios, comprised of pretty much all the same people.
