Well it took infinity ward about 2 years to make cod4. So I certainly wouldn't hold my breathe for cod5. What a weird question...Seems your choice is cod4 or halo 3. IMO, cod4 is superior in both single & multi-player aspects.
Between H3 and cod4 I don't know, as I have only played H3 thus far, but I can tell you probably not to wait, because if the trend continues, CoD5 will be made by whoever that other company is, not Infinity Ward, and will suck like CoD3 did.
TC, please just wait until COD5. If it's so necessary for you to make a thread about it, I don't want to run into another dim wit on my CoD4 or Halo 3 server. thank you.
Halo 3- Boring single player, pathetic multiplayer were everyone who plays is too concerned with their rank to be polite. Only good thing is saved films and the score is amazing.
Call of Duty 4- Amazing Multiplayer, awesome singleplayer although short
Call of Duty 5- Dont know but I heard theyre going back to World War 2, if so, thats a total buzz kill.
CoD4 is amazing. Having played both to the end, and extensive MP on both, I still think CoD4 is a better game. But Halo 3 will have more longevity with the DLC.

Call of Duty 5 is being made by Treyarch, the guys behind COD3, so I wouldn't even have that junk on my wishlist. I'd say grab Halo 3. (But that just me, as I already have COD4.)

give it a few months cod4 will have dlc as well, both will keep on top that way. just halo will go longer before they bring out the sequel halo 1st person shooter. so it probs have more dlc but only coz cod4 probs stop getting dlc when number 5 is out
