that as soon as gamespot gave shadowrun a 6.9 the "you say" went down. before they rated the game it was staying around 8.8-8.9 but since then it has continuously fallen in score and is now 8.3. do you think this has to do partly with people never playing the game and giving it a bad review just because gamespot did? just a thought...
Absolutely. A reputable website like gamespot is going to influence ratings for people who havent played the game. Ultimately you have to play the game to come up with a real rating.

possibly but even so i think people who have not played the game shouldnt go off of what other people have said until they play it themselves thats the only way you'll truly know if you like it or not.
The reason the rating went down is because more people played it. This happens with a lot of games, the first people to rate it give it a high rating based on a few hours of gameplay and then those who have played it more will then give their rating and most of the time the rating goes down.
