I must say, after playing the demo and watching gameplay videos of RE5, I've noticed the violence has been reduced considerably from the last game. While I am not some bloodthirsty maniac who laughed ever times Leon's head plopped off, I'm starting to feel a bit cheated that the violence this time around is subdued. After getting hacked by the chainsaw man, all you see is some bloodsplatter before the camera pans away. Where is the head? Where is all of the gore from the last game. Not to mention, everytime I've seen characters die in other ways, they only fall to the floor ala Link from the Legend of Zelda after loosing all of his hearts.
This doesn't feel like an M-rated game. I want insect acid melting open my brain, I want to be impaled on spikes, and I want to see that one guy in the beginning get his head chopped off buy the big ax guy. This is why horror movies our made. This is one of the reasons I play RE5. People need their bloodlust quenched, but apparently RE5 fails to do what RE4 did. I guess Dead Space still reigns supreme as the creepiest and most disgusting 360 game. Shame on you Capcom for taming RE5 for a wider audience. What are all of your guys opinions on this. Who wants to see the heads roll?
