I must say, after playing the demo and watching gameplay videos of RE5, I've noticed the violence has been reduced considerably from the last game. While I am not some bloodthirsty maniac who laughed ever times Leon's head plopped off, I'm starting to feel a bit cheated that the violence this time around is subdued. After getting hacked by the chainsaw man, all you see is some bloodsplatter before the camera pans away. Where is the head? Where is all of the gore from the last game. Not to mention, everytime I've seen characters die in other ways, they only fall to the floor ala Link from the Legend of Zelda after loosing all of his hearts.

This doesn't feel like an M-rated game. I want insect acid melting open my brain, I want to be impaled on spikes, and I want to see that one guy in the beginning get his head chopped off buy the big ax guy. This is why horror movies our made. This is one of the reasons I play RE5. People need their bloodlust quenched, but apparently RE5 fails to do what RE4 did. I guess Dead Space still reigns supreme as the creepiest and most disgusting 360 game. Shame on you Capcom for taming RE5 for a wider audience. What are all of your guys opinions on this. Who wants to see the heads roll?

After about 3 hours of playing it I agree its not that gory or creepy. The game so far to me is a bit of a dissapointment, but its fun nonetheless. Im at the chainsaw guy now, and I shall see if this game improves.

I disagree. I think they made it more realistic! If a person has a stick of dynamite in theirhand and it goes off, they wouldn't fly backwards spiraling to the ground. There probably wouldn't be anything left of them, or any other person near them. Or if someone were to get their head cut off by achainsaw, it wouldn't just go right through. It would take a moment because the chain has to work through the debris of flesh and bone. These are some examples of things that happen in RE4 and 5. So i don't think it was a matter of toning the blood and gore down, I think it was a matter of making it more realistic. I feel that the tension and fear is taken away by daylight, not by Resident Evil being toned down.

I saw one guy getting impaled, I've blown off countless heads, I saw a dog split in half, I saw a guy get crushed alive, I don't think it's been tamed.

I was really talking about how Chris and Sheva die. It seems like Leon had a tougher time than those two.

There is some violence and gore... however. A chainsaw guy buzzed my head off and it did not show it. I think it has gotten very real looking and for that they dont want to show a head come off.

I got bit in half and it shows the thing chomping you, then just your legs falling and laying on the ground
