i don't want to get a hate storm, just a discussion. There haven't been too many exlusives for Xbox. XBLA is great and all, but i think they are lacking having more exclusives. I don't know if anyone agree's with me

PS3 does have way more exclusives but the only one I ever really cared about was MGS4.
Gears is all I truely need. I'm addicted to Gears 3 competitive multiplayer. Even after I get Judgement I know I will still be playing Gears 3 regularly.
Gears3 for life.
It depends what execlusives you perfer. I perfer 360 execlusives. They are more of my taste then a ps3.
They have a good amount of exclusives, they just need some new IPGranny_Spankedthat's what i was thinking

But honestly, if you don't like like Halo, Gears and Forza then what's the point of having a 360. For me it's all about Forza and Gears. I still play both series everyday and can't get enough.

Just saying.Last Gen it seemed like MS was really focused on 1st party development, trying new IP's and focusing more on games. This Gen it feels like they don't have many 1st party games other than the 3 franchises that sold well and focused less on games and more on an all around entertainment experience. I hope that MS looks back on what made the original Xbox so great and focus on those positives for the next console. I'd personally like to see a good Fable game instead of the last piece of garbage that was released, maybe an MMO that takes place before the first Fable.Lebowski__basicyeah that is my point
I think there are too few that are worth playing. Though, I think part of that is the fully westernization of the system, whereas Sony has both western and japanese exlusives, allowing for more variety. That said, I'm playing Metro 2033 now and am liking it and plan to get Alan Wake soon (I'm new to Xbox, forgive me for just getting these games now). Though, I still think Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls are amongst the best current gen exclusives (well, Halo 4 is also very good, just a bit heavy on the button pressing).

they started out good in 2005, but when Xbox founders left, they slowed their roll. i'm talking about retail exclusives, like you, but yeah...360 started with a huge BANG, but seems to be on wimper mode the last three years for me other than the main geow/halo/fable/forza games.i don't want to get a hate storm, just a discussion. For system wars "360 has no games"
For normal people there's 10-15 games dropping every single month.

To be honest, the only exclusive that I play now is Alan Wake. I have zero interest in first person shooters or Gears. Hopefully, there will be more RPG's next gen. I'm still holding out for a Star Ocean 5. Before it went multiplatform, Mass Effect was my number one Xbox exclusive, and even though I could play it on PS3 now, I won't simply because all my saves are on 360 and I'm not restarting the entire franchise to switch over to a different system which would be pointless anyway.Â
Microsoft needs more first-party titles. They charge for multiplayer access for multiplats (which is free on other platforms), and then they continue to only put out one game a year from their 3 big franchises - Halo, Gears, and Forza. Yes the 360 still has a lot of great multiplats, but when these new systems come out, Microsoft sure as hell better have some new IPs (that aren't Kinect) lined up.

You'd never know that because of Microsoft's advertising. While Sony is advertising The Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls, Microsoft is advertising how to tell your xbox to slag through menus with Kinect and Smart Glass. For system wars "360 has no games"

I think it really depends on which platform is the leading platform for third party developers. Generally the platform with the majority third party support, will have less 1st party games. With the first Xbox, MS had to have a lot of first party IP's because Sony dominated in terms of third party support and they were just entering the market. This time around, it was the opposite to start off the generation. MS had the cheaper console, with the leading platform for developers, so Sony had to make up for it in first party IP's.
I think this is always going to be the case. If you have the majority of third party support, you don't want to dominate the charts with your own first party IP's. Gotta leave room for the third parties to make their money.
So to answer the question, they could have used one or two additional IP's, but by them stepping back, I think it also helped keep the 360 as the leading platform for third party developers. It's a matter of balance.
You make a good point. I never thought about it that way. This is part of the reason Nintendo will never be good for third party games. A few strong third party titles, and that's it. I think Sony wants it all, but they don't have it all because of the third party issue. A lot of people love third party games on the 360 because of xbox live. They don't care about the PS3 first party exclusives. When I got my 360, I suddenly found myself being told that they gotta get their xbox 360 back again so they could play Halo or Black Ops 2 with me online. One person said he wanted to play Halo Wars online with me. It's nice to know people in real life that I can play with over xbox live with both first and third party games. Maybe it really is a good thing that Microsoft only has a few strong first party games. I'm really lovin the Halo remake. I just wish they would remake Halo 2 for the 360. Looks like I'm gonna have to search out Halo 2 for the original xbox before getting my grubby hands on Halo 3. I'll eventually start on the Gears of War saga as well.I think it really depends on which platform is the leading platform for third party developers. I don't agree because Nintendo had a strong 1st party for SNES and had strong 3rd party games. Sega had a strong 1st party during genesis and strong 3rd party games.
PS2 had very strong 1st party and also had the majority of games. You don't have to take one and not the other. M$ just is getting fat on the hog, the suits overpowered the creatives.
Xbox is just an odd apple in that they are overly reliant and don't develop IPs because they cost more than buying timed exclusive content.
The main reason I still turn on my 360 is because of Fable, it is my favorite series on the Xbox and I have loved all the games. Is there a little drought of exclusives compared to the PS3? Sure, but I play my 360 more because of the great XBLA games, more of my favorite exclusives, and a better interface.Granny_SpankedI would love to see a Fable prequel on the next console. The original Fable is still my favorite of the three and would love to return to a time where Heroes were all around, maybe an MMO.
