Just curious because I got mine around the time they came out and it's still working fine.

yup, i had my elite die on me maybe about 6 months ago now, so i can tell you guys for a fact that Jasper models can still get RROD

Any system can bro all it means is a hardware failure the PS3 and other consoles can still have hardware failure. The xbox just happens to have lights on the front to tell you exactly what is wrong. :P
I have had 2 falcons die on me as well as a Jasper start to go in and out of service. One Jasper was always perfect though. Traded all four of these in and got two new Xbox Slims and already had one of them die within the first 2 months. The replacement for it seems to still be going, maybe a little louder. The other slim is still going fine though.
It's really just luck as to if your Xbox lasts a long time. If there was manufacturing defects then they will show up at some time or another. Or you can get one without any and treat it like crap and it will keep going for what seems like forever.
cool. good to hear. The reason I posted this is because I was debating on getting the new Xbox 360 Slim (or whatever it's called) because I wasn't too sure if the failure rate was still high with the Jaspers. Thanks!

I was gonna buy a new slim on launch, but got a brand new Arcade Jasper for less than half the price, then bought a brand new 120GB hard drive for a measely £20,so basically i got a white Jasper Elite for less than half the price of the new 250GB slim, and it runs just sweet!
http://bjdraw.com/2009/07/03/how-to-tell-an-xbox-360-is-a-jasper/The power brick is only about two thirds in length of a Falcon or older 360s power brick.[QUOTE="F0urTwenty"]
how can you tell which model you have?

This is what I plan on doing. I still have my first 20 GB hard drive and I constantly have to delete stuff since I like to download my games.Yes, I have had my Elite die on me before. I replaced it with a used Arcade that still works to this day! But I sold it. Now that I have the Halo Reach Xbox 360 S I look at those silly Black Xbox 360 consoles and laugh.
EDIT: I almost forgot to add that my Arcade was made in 2007, and it was bought and a pawn shop. So it's not a refurb.
I did and for no reason it broke. Lucky you to still have yours working but sometimes they just break no matter what you do. My Jasper broke but it is fine because I got a brand new Xbox 360 that is working perfect. My Falcon is still soaring.
I've had this puppy since November 17th 2005 (five days before release), and I haven't had a single problem. Take care of your equiptment. :)
