I always wondered how well these Indie games do. Most of them are just utter garbage, but I've played a few that were actually kind of cool. I played "Y2KZP" which was really cool. I also bought "Solar" which I think has an awesome concept. I bought "Gerbil Physics" which wasn't that bad, but hey only $1 so whatever. I spent like $3 getting Twin Blades, which is really good but not worth $3 (considering some XBLA are $5 and have achievements and such).

I dunno, just wondering how wide spread the purchases are for Indie games and wondering if those poor guys even make any money off them. There are some... well, MOST that are just plain bad, clearly some programmer just trying to jip us out of a buck. But some of them are well made.

They should let Indie games have achivements up to 50 points.

Just my thoughts.

No. They all seem like a waste of money.

Yeah I bought 2 actually. Beat Hazard and.... *cough* avatar drop *cough*

Beat Hazard is awesome, think of geometry wars with you're own music, the louder the music plays the more hardcore the game gets. Avatar drop on the other hand was a big no no.

No, I have not. I would like to make one though. I just realized that DreamSpark offers XNA 3.1 for free to students. I guess the first step would be downloading the program.

I have I got avatar golf when it was on sale for that 12 days of New Year sale. It is actually really fun. And not to sound like an achievement whore but I would buy a lot more if they had achievements.

I love GROOV, and I bought the golf game that you can make your own courses and play with your avatars, some word game and a puzzle game. hey, I'm a gamer, I like to play games, and why not give these people some support.

I wish the people who made Groov would make a full fledged sequal with more music, if you like geometry wars, give groov a chance, you might like it.

No. Never have, never will. Professionally made games are often bad enough, I really don't want to play anything made by amateurs.

hey that's a pretty cool game Robot Foot.

How long and how much did you cost you so far? How many do you think you'd have to sell to re-coup the cost? How much is Microsoft's take on your game revenue?

We've been working on it in our free time for almost 6 months now. Just using what we have, so the cost isn't that high yet. We hope to sell alot, seeing as how a lot of the indie games are just shovelware toss away games. We wanted to make something people could actually sit down and play and enjoy like the old school 2d games from back in the day. With 25 full levels and 3 secret levels, it should be as big as an NES game. The split with microsoft is 70/30, so we hope to make as many sales as we can!
