Have you noticed the lower review scores for Ninja Gaiden 2 sound bitter.

Reading many of the lower scored reviews just makes it obvious that there are media types bitter at Itagaki-san and/or ticked at NG2's difficulty. As stated in this article:

http://blogs.pcworld.com/gameon/archives/007020.html

alot of the negative/cons that are bringing review scores for NG2 down are not justified in their articles.

For instance GamesRaders Ninja Gaiden 2 review: http://www.xboxkings.com/index.php?site=news_comments&newsID=940&lang=uk

was so unprofessional, he attacked the developer and fans of the game because the game was so difficult, he rambled on for 2 pages about its difficulty. I have read Gamesraders review and guess what? We know already about its difficulty anyone who played or was vaguely interested knew of NG's legendary difficulty, so then whats the point of blasting a game for it, when its known beforehand that its a hardcore game? Should the game be docked points due to its pedigree in being difficult or maybe a different person would have been better off reviewing it? I trust a review like this alot more: http://gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/7AFC09D0-8D05-4532-ACE2-F17C21DB3D5C.htm

Also, there is a double standard, for instance many of the things reviews that are discounting NG2 for difficulty, graphics, and camera. Yet GTA4 has framerate hitchs, the graphics are nowhere near as good as promised, and many missions are frustrating, but because GTA4 is an open-world it gets a free pass and loads of 10's and perfect scores.

If you are mildly interested in NG2, please try it yourself and forget bitter reviewers, its an excellent game:

Ninja Gaiden has always been known for it's difficulty. You should know what you're getting into when you play it, I guess these people didn't.

They're not bitter, they're pointing out it's insanely difficult to the point of being unfair. I'd say that would be quite a good thing to focus on when reviewing a game, considering not everyone (indeed, hardly anyone) played the first game. If the diffculty is subtracting from the fun then they are right to point it out.

The low review scores came from wimps who was used to play Halo on recruit level, besides Ninja Gaiden is a good game because its so hard, which means you're always up for a challenge. So forget the those amateur reviews.

Really? I've read that combined sales of NG and NG Black were over 1.5 million. If that's "hardly anyone", then how about handing me a million of hardly in dollars.

The game is suffering from sequelitis with reviewers. The first one was shockingly good, and those types of games will always do better the first time around (I'm expecting lower GeoW2 scores as well). I'm sure this game is very difficult, but so was the first game. It had plenty of "I'm done with this game" moments, but you invariably got BETTER if you stuck with it to the point where at the end you are simply GREAT at it. That was fine for reviewers with the fresh, new original version. Not so much this time around. So its doubtful that the game is inferior, but that reviewers are (understandably) harsher.

At least I'm glad to know they didn't "noobify" it like Halo 3 did. The difficulty is what keeps you playing.

it is impossible too make a free form camera to stay centered on screen because the action is to fast and movement cannot be anticipated. that's why a right trigger is used to center the camera. why is that so hard for many to grasp? if team ninja could have made it better, they would have.

Bah! Ninja Gaiden isn't even THAT difficult on the moderate difficulties. I've played a lot tougher games than NJ. And Ninja Gaiden is hands down, in my opinion, the best game on the original Xbox (I just like to add that because it's worth mentioning :D )

Game reviewers often don't have much time to do their reviews. If a game is punishingly difficult, trying to play through it so they can have a thorough review will be incredibly frustrating. It's not the reviewers' fault, it's the time they've been given to make the review.

If someone sees ninja gaiden 2 and says"oh that looks like a cool game it has ninjas." and then wants to play it and reads the reviews, he will know exactly what hes getting. I dont see the problem here. If your a NG fan, then you know what your getting and thats fine. But the other billions of people who dont even know what Ninja Gaiden is will blind buy the game and then not get past the first level get frustrated and sell the game. Thats just how it goes PERIOD. No way around that. ninja gaiden is too hard for the regular gamer. So knocking down points and focusing on that in a review is a good thing. Either way, i know im buying the game and that's all that matters. Review scores dont mean crap to me.

that's the way i feel. it's all right to read/listen to the reviews opinions, but they will never be the "gospel" that some people make them out to be. it's some ones opinion. that's it. I'd rather make up my own mind.

Exactly, I pay attention to reviews to a certain extent but there are many games that I've really enjoyed that received horrible review scores. NG2 is not a game for a casual gamer but for someone with serious skills. I beat the first one and not everyone can do that so it is an accomplishment to be able to do so! Any reviewer who played NG2 and did not expect it to be super hard should have known better.

It seems fair, but I do not agree with the camera comment. It is simply one more element that the gamer must master when playing a game this hard.

Who cares abou scores? I can't wait to play it. Ninja Gaiden on the 360 was VERY difficult. I consider myself hard core and usually run through games without any real problems on the standard difficulty level, and I have even beat few games on the toughest difficulty (for example Gears on Insane, Halo 1 & 2 on Legendary, all done in Single Player mode, not to mention old school shooters like Contra).

I couldn't even think about playing Ninja Gaiden on Hard. Normal already required treating each and every enemy encounter as if it were a final boss fight in most other games. For me this was part of the reason I enjoyed it so much though and game me a real sense of satisfaction when I was finally able to beat the last boss.

It reminded me of days past when games were hard to beat. Back when it cost $.25 for a continue the developers made it extremely difficult to beat so you'd keep pumping quarters into the machine. While I'm glad not all games are still this difficult it is good to see one every once in a while that reminds me of where I came from as a gamer.

its all opinions and rockstar didn't promise anything about gta 4 graphics and was still great anyway. i guess the only thing that would make me get ng2 is because its different to the of 360's market of games but i most probably not get this game anyway not really my type of game, i like ninjas and swords but this i found quite boring, in my opinion but i can see why people like it.
