Nah, personally it doesn't look too fun for me. There're tonnes of new games coming and I'll probably be something else instead of Alan Wake.
Yeah people don't spend your money the way you want to!!!!11
=/
the limited edition actually looks pretty cool, 144 page book 'written by alan wake', avatar stuff, theme, some other stuff i cant remember. if amazon gave a gift card with the purchase of the LE i would get it, but since they don't it's essentially 30 bucks for the book and extra XBL stuff.... 20 would be fine, but not 30.
God people..get the regular edition.gamer082009
Why? The first episodic DLC will probably be $10-15 when its released and you get it free if you get the limited edition, plus the soundtrack so I think the extra $20 is definitely worth it.
Yeah I have the Collectors Edition pre ordered. Its pretty great value for an extra $20. You get the DLC, a theme and picture pack, a soundtrack and a novel.
I was going to wait til reviews, but what the heck :)
Im excited, but I also have doubts. The movement in the E3 09 demo looked clunky. It could be another Alone in the Dark, we will see.
I always wait for reviews and/or a demo. I also wait in case there is a bunch of DLC that isn't free at launch. DLC that isn't free at launch drives me crazy.KC_Hokie
Well, I guess that you do not buy too many games then because there isn't too many games that do that. And why would they? That is how game companies make there money as it just isn't off of just selling the game that's for sure.
Also instead of complaining how about just don't buy it if it really bothers that much. It sounds like you miss alot of great games with that attitude.

Calm down, its his opinion.
On-topic: I didn't preordered it, RDR comes out the same month and i much prefer getting it. I "may" afford both if i have enough money, after all they both cost 79$ (after tax) >_< will also most likely get the normal edition, can care less about LE.
God people..get the regular edition.gamer082009
WHY?! Do you have actual reason people shouldn't, or are you just saying that for no reason besides you own? If you do not like the limited/collectors editions of games that is you problem not ours, so keep that nonsense to youself.
The Alan Wake Limited Edition looks to be much cooler than most other limited/collectors editions of games in the past years.
I dont really preorder.....I like saving money....but I would pre order alan wake if I really wanted to

And why isn't this "DLC" in the actual game in the first place? LOL..I just laugh when people buy dlc on a games launch or a week after (meaning the ripoff editions that we call Limited or Collectors). I just don't subscribe to supporting them milking us for money when the damn content should've been in the game in the first place. I mean $65 isn't enough for one game as it is?! (but to already release dlc content right away and try to pass it off as an incentive is plain sad?! ok then) Well, my words mean nothing to you, so go buy away[QUOTE="ghstbstr"][QUOTE="gamer082009"]God people..get the regular edition.gamer082009

The developers already stated that Alan Wake has a complete ending and that the episodic DLC will bridge the gap between the first and second game(if they have a big enough audience so they can make a sequel).

An expansion pack in downloadable form. Its not like the game is going to cut out 3/4 the way through and say "You need to download the DLC to finish Alan Wake". In the CE you also get a novel, theme , picture pack and the DLC. I wouldnt buy it if I didnt think it was good value. AVP Hunter was a rip off; $30-40 more for a crappy facehugger and DLC. Heavy Rain LE was good value $10 more for DLC and theme. Splinter Cell Conviction CE will be good for $20-30 more; figure, DLC, extra weapons, soundtrack, game mode, faceplate, key chain LED. By the way I am aware these might vary by region.preordered the limited edition back in febuary only have sixteen more dollars to pay off, this game looks amazing.
no, personally I'm not into paying for something that isn't even finished.. Surely it makes sense to wait.. But it's your cash.

So umm...... What in the hell is that supposed to mean?
Just do not post something like that and then do not explain yourself. Now that is just stupid.

O.K.. This is just for you; due to the fact that your having problems understanding a simple answer to a simple question..
Question.. Have you pre ordered Alan Wake ?
Answer.. "No; personally I'm not into paying for something that isn'nt even finished".. Surely it makes sense to wait.. But it's your cash.
If you need help understanding anymore questions and answers, you can find me on here most evenings.
Just in case your still unable to understand the above I've added another line just for you..
"The game looks and sounds very interesting, but personally I'de rather wait to see what reaction it gets from reviews; before placing any orders"
Have a nice day.

So are you telling me that you have never pre-ordered a game in the past?
People like me like to pre-order games, because they know that they want the game and they have the money now and they may not have it later and sometimes you get a bonus for pre-ordering that you would not get if you bought the game after it's release date unless you buy it off of someone on eBay.

Yes; exactually.. I've Never pre ordered a title, and probably never will.:)
I've been following this cult game Alan Wake for a while now. After being in development for so long, I feel it's not official yet. I feel like this May 18 date isn't for real, so I'm not going to pre-order yet until the very last 1-2 weeks.
On gameplay, I'm kinda, sorta disappointed with what I've seen so far. This light versus darkness gameplay combat doesn't look or sound that great on paper. Will every encounter require you to pull out a flare or flashlight to kill an enemy? Seems a bit cliche to me but I'm optimistic.
I know the graphics will be breath-taking. No doubt. But as we've learned from the past, graphics doesn't make the game.
As far as the story and the premise goes, I think it's very interesting and unique. An author starts writing for his book, and those imaginary visions come to life. It's pretty darn cool. This, along with Splinter Cell: Conviction will be last moment pre-orders for me. I'll wait and see.
