I've been wanting a HD cable for a while now and im not sure if my TV can take the Component HD AV Cable. And for the VGA cable, underneath the port, there is only a single "audio R/L" port. I have posted a link below for the manual for my tv if anyone could take a quick look, thanks in advance for any advice

Hi,

The manual says that you have been supplied with a converter cable for the component leads that you get with your xbox 360 so you can either use these or the tv has a PC input on EXT 4, so again you can use the xbox VGA cable :)

If you buy the VGA cable it comes with an adaptor to connect the 2 audio leads from the VGA cable to 1 input that you have on the TV.  So you are good to go!

Hope this helps?

It looks like your tv resolution is 1366x768 which is basicly 720p but I think you'll be more than impressed.

If you have the component cables from your premium console? then why not try the converter thing first, you never know it might be all you need, if not then get the VGA cable :)

Glad I could help.

I've got the core system so either way im gonna have to buy a new wire.I think i may as well just buy the VGA cable to save having to take the other cable back and im not sure that the converter would work as it only has red green and blue therefore i wouldnt be able to plug the other 3 in. thanks

If your TV has a native resolution of 1366x768, you'll get a MUCH better picture from using the VGA cable and setting the xbox dashboard res to 1360x768. 720p looks awful by comparison. I mean, really, 10 times better, no exaggeration. It's a total myth that component is better than vga, it is not better in any way. I was searching about this a while ago, and came across this very helpful forum thread.

As you can see there are different opinions, but I can tell you from personal experience with an LCD TV with a native res of 1366x768, when I first set it up at 720p, I was shocked how bad it looked (I had been used to a CRT monitor), so I figured I'd try the vga cable on the lcd tv, and set the dashboard res to the res of the tv (or as close as possible). Difference you cannot believe.
