If your TV supports HDMI - then that is the absolute best way to achieve HD.

Second would be component cables and thirdly would be VGA.

A DVI cable would do it too just as well as HDMI - but that is not a standard method and you'd have to reroute your sound.

It sounds like from your question that you have HDMI - and that's the absolute best so use that.

I think you still would need them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

...Just make sure both your television and Xbox 360 have ports for an HDMI cable, you don't want to buy a cable you don't have inputs for...

Yes you have to get the hdmi pack that has the thinner plug for a/v to route sound to speakers and fit hdmi cable in as well.

just look under your current AV input on your 360...If you have a thin input that looks similar to a usb port, then that is your hdmi.

Go to the dollar store and pick up a hdmi cable for $10

That one cable is all you need.

If you have an older surround sound system, just connect that to the audio out on your tv. That way you can choose to use your tv's sound or the surround sound, and it won'tbe affected by using an hdmi cable

all this, and component cables will do just fine for hdmi
