My XBOX 360 just broke the other day, the 3 rings of death. My 20 Gig HDD is still fine. I am planning on buying a Core XBOX 360 or I'm just going to wait on the 29th to buy an Elite. Is it possible for me to transfer the data from the 20 Gig HDD to the 120 Gig HDD?

If this sounds a bit confusing, let me explain. Since I'll only have one XBOX 360, I'm going to ask my friend to bring his XBOX 360 over so we could try to transfer my data from both my HDD's. Again I ask, is this possible?

As of this moment there is no way to copy the data from yuor 20gig drive over to the 120gig drive that comes with the Elite.  You can however transfer over to a standalone 120gig drive.  Microsoft has stated that there will be a way to do this in the future, but they haven't released any details.

Wow you guys are pretty dumb. Its called the xport 360. You can go to circuit city.com to check it out or through ebay. You get to transfer EVERYTHING you have on your hardrive to your computer. Then when you get the 120 gb , you just transfer ALL the stuff from the computer to the 120 gb.

Yeah you can, most people don't know about it though because the device used to do it is also commonly used in cheating the achievement point system.  (See above post)

HOW About this, you either buy, 512MB memory card, or when the 360 elite comes out I heard it comes with a HDD data transfer kit. Which I'm going to buy both :D

If you don't want to go the routes above to transfer over data, you can re-download the things you have purchased through the Marketplace as long as you have your gamercard on your HDD or MU.  Just borrow a memory card if you don't want to purchase one, but they def. come in handy.

Ok, let's clarify this.

The Elite does not come with a transfer cable.....that is only sold with the standalone HDD. Microsoft is working on a solution for those that have a 20gig drive and that are getting an Elite.

The big problem is the Video Marketplace content and the fact that it is tied to the Gamercard and the system itselft, so there will be problems when you transfer that stuff to another HDD and plug it into another 360.
