Seems Toy's R Us, Best Buy and Amazon have discounted the 360 HD-DVD addon.

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2538552

It still comes with King Kong, and qualifies for the 5 free movies

thats the new price, I think it should sell for $100 as you need a 360 to run it.

But if you are using component hook-ups do we still get a HD qaulity? Despite the fact we aren't using VGA or HDMI!

They only made one batch and it isnt selling so they're just trying to make their money back on the units.

WOW! I would think most people would jump all over that thing. I personally am going to wait to get a unit that plays both Blu Ray, and HD DVD. I know LG makes one, but its too expensive right now. They should come down within the next couple of years. Hopefully!

I'd pick one up for $100. Good to see it's dropping in price, especially since it just plays HD-DVDs and nothing else.

A lot of High Definition movies are using a disc that works on both HD DVD players and Blu Ray players

I still dont know if I want to invest into HD-DVD or Blu Ray yet, but I still dont want to buy this just for the mere fact that its an add-on.

Still $200 for Canadians...Scarface_tm431

Unfortunately...

I was pondering getting the 360 drive but I just noticed LG came out with an HD-DVD and Blu-ray player for PC. just under $300. It's only a matter of time until those types of devices get more exposure than just as a computer disc drive.

Actuall I just looked it up on both Amazon and Best buy... as well as Wal-Mart, New Egg, and Circuit City.... and they all have it marked at 180... except New Egg has it for 170. Anyway... only Toys'R'Us has it for 130... sure this is an official price-drop or just TRU?

Hmmm... I'm still not finding any place that has it for 130 aside from Toys'R'Us. And TRU doesn't even have it for online sale.

Wow i'd so buy it for 130. Unfortunately its still 200 for Canadians

I mean, 5 free HDDVDs at like 20 bucks each that's a savings of at least 100 bucks. Nice!

Sweet, I just hope it's not a limited time offer because there was no announcement from MS regarding this price drop.
