Branding is overrated for the most part. A 10 dollar cable will do just as fine as a 100 dollar cables (typically) and you should only put money into an expensive one if you are using a cable at a considerable length.

Your question about what meters are is quite trivial...another unit of length. 1m is almost equivalent to 3ft. 2m ~6ft, etc.

Amazon sells a variety of inexpensive, quality HDMI cables. Just be careful to check the reviews. Some of the cheaper ones are not v1.3, cat. 2, even if they claim that they are!

I love HDMI.

HDMI is the excellent...just disappointed in the new version coming out and having to re-buy them so long as the current hardware/firmware can handle it. Definitely looking forward to ethernet over HDMI...curious to see what devices will be able to utilize it

Do not buy 'high end' cables. These are without a doubt, a scam. The cables transmit a digital signal. As long as the cable is built properly, it will be fine. TECHNICALLY, gold plating and such might help with HDMI if you have a /ton/ of interference going around, but that is a rare thing.

Just buy from Amazon or Monoprice.com, you'll be fine.
