My 360 rrod. this is the second time its happened.

Last time they sent me a replacement model.

if they do the same, is there a chance it will come back with an hdmi port?

YES..... you will most likely not get the same console back, they just send you back a refurb one they have completed

you have a chance of this happening. i also have a question. if a console comes back with a hdmi port, does that mean i have to buy an hdmi cable for it to work, or can u use the regular cables. because i doubt ms sends u cables for the system?

You need to buy the cable. Unless you have an elite which comes with one already.
