First, HDTV discussion belong in the hardware forum. Second, where are you getting the HDMI input from?

See if you can use the 6 sockets you get with the 360 in your TV and flick the switch to HD. I'm not sure about all that stuff though.

The 360 doesn't do HDMI (yet) only VGA and Component depending on the cables you use. So as long as your TV can handle either of those (it should if it's a HDTV) then you're fine. Now you're in the UK, so I dunno what the connectors for the UK 360 are, I guess this SCART thing??
