HDTV ness

I'm going to be getting an HDTV for my room this christmas, i know it's a long time away, but my mom said she will only buy me a 19 inch (costs and such), will that be big enough to enjoy my games on? and if you get smaller a smaller HDTV will the quality be going down?

It will still look pretty if that's what you are worried about.
